Iconic actress Samara Weaving (The Babysitter) recently sat down with the good people at Collider to promote her newest film, Azreal. During this interview the young star had a surprising announcement to make. The project that she would like to work on next would be A Nightmare on Elm Street.
Even though there haven’t been any updates on The Nightmare on Elm Street franchise in quite some time. This may just be the thing to get the ball rolling again. It would be a perfect fit too. Samara has already won the title of scream queen for her work in films such as Ready or Not, Mayhem, and The Babysitter.

It’s also worth mentioning that now would be a perfect time to announce a continuation of the franchise. A Nightmare on Elm Street celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2024 and fans havent received a new installment in over a decade.
The joining of these two cultural icons would be a match made in heaven. Or rather, in a nightmarish hell. Either way, it would be a battle of epic proportions that horror fans have yearned for.
Sadly, there has been no mention of a new Nightmare on Elm Street film. Let alone Samara’s involvement in this wish fulfilment film. The franchise has been getting brought up a lot as of late.

Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street), who played Nancy in the original film, has stated that she would love to reprise her role and battle it out with Freddy one last time. While renowned filmmaker Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House), wants to take a run at making his own version of the iconic franchise.
We can only hope that studios take note of all of this attention. That’s all the information we have at this time. Make sure to check back here for updates. In the meantime, go watch Nightmare on Elm Street again.
