Most horror fans have become familiar with the “Resident Evil” franchise, how could they not be?

That universe have been a staple within the horror genre since the video game came out in 1996 and the film in 2002. With the anticipation of their newest game,“Resident Evil 7: Biohazard”, which takes viewers into the realm of 4D entertainment on January 24, one company wants to inundate your sensed even further.

Geek merchandiser Merchoid will be releasing a Resident Evil 7: Blood, Sweat, and Fears 4D VR Candle in celebration of the latest installment.

If being virtually inside Resident Evil isn’t enough, the creators of the bloody votive have designed them in such a way to incorporate your sense of smell, giving you an enhanced experience, beyond the goggles.

I’m not sure if that’s a good thing, but I have to admit I am intrigued. The designers state that the smells will be reminiscent of “old timber, leather, and maybe some blood…” which is a step above the smell of decomposing corpses.

As for the lingering scent? The candles are designed to last approximately 18-20 hours and have a price tag of $18.99 which isn’t too much when getting a quality candle – even if it does center around death, destruction, and the undead.

It looks like the candles aren’t on sale yet on the website, but I have a feeling as soon as they are added, they will sell out, so make sure you to keep checking back at Merchoid.

This is a must-have item, especially if you want to combined it with your gaming experience when playing “Resident Evil 7: Biohazard”.

For me, I’m just happy to see candles that are designed after our favorite horror films and characters and I look forward to continuing my own collection of horror-filled candles. It’s always a great conversation starter.

Update: The candles are sold out on Merchoid, but still available through Numskull.
