Rebel Moon Trailer

“Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire,” a film directed by Zack Snyder, has become a significant hit on Netflix, earning the distinction of being the #1 movie on the platform as it closes out 2023. The film garnered 23.9 million views in just over three days following its release. This impressive figure reflects the movie’s popularity and marks a strong start for the space opera, which is anticipated to receive an R-rated director’s cut in the future.

The movie is an exciting blend of genres, drawing inspiration from classics like “Star Wars” and “Seven Samurai.” It stars Sofia Boutella as Kora, a character who gathers superheroes in a distant galaxy to battle an evil empire. The movie is known for its sensational world-building vision and a stylistic filmmaking approach, typical of Snyder’s work. It’s a fast-paced film, filled with well-executed battles and slow-motion action sequences.

‘Presumed Innocent’ Trailer: 90s-Style Sexy Thrillers Are Back

Published

Presumed Innocent

Jake Gyllenhaal might be Presumed Innocent, but in this official trailer for the eight-part AppleTV+ series the evidence is to the contrary. Fresh off of his Amazon stint as a barroom cooler in Road House, Gyllenhaal is going from blue-collar to white-collar in his latest project produced by David E. Kelley and J.J. Abrams.

Based on the 1987 book by Scott Turow, this is the latest adaptation of that legal thriller—the first being in 2000 starring Harrison Ford. “It tells the story of a horrific murder that upends the Chicago Prosecuting Attorneys’ office when one of its own is suspected of the crime.”

The 90s provided movie-going audiences with lots of sexy thrillers. Perhaps the most famous being Basic Instinct. From there Hollywood kept churning them out. They were mostly set in places with procedural tasks, such as a law firm or police precinct. But they always had a sex scene.

By the look of the Presumed Innocent trailer, it seems we are getting a callback to those days. The cast also includes Ruth NeggaBill Camp, and Peter Sarsgaard. The first two episodes will premiere on AppleTV+ on June 12.

Trailer for ‘The Exorcism’ Has Russell Crowe Possessed

Published

on

The latest exorcism movie is about to drop this summer. It’s aptly titled The Exorcism and it stars Academy Award winner turned B-movie savant Russell Crowe. The trailer dropped today and by the looks of it, we are getting a possession movie that takes place on a movie set.

Just like this year’s recent demon-in-media-space film Late Night With the Devil, The Exorcism happens during a production. Although the former takes place on a live network talk show, the latter is on an active sound stage. Hopefully, it won’t be entirely serious and we’ll get some meta chuckles out of it.

The film will open in theaters on June 7, but since Shudder also acquired it, it probably won’t be long after that until it finds a home on the streaming service.

Crowe plays, “Anthony Miller, a troubled actor who begins to unravel while shooting a supernatural horror film. His estranged daughter, Lee (Ryan Simpkins), wonders if he’s slipping back into his past addictions or if there’s something more sinister at play. The film also stars Sam Worthington, Chloe Bailey, Adam Goldberg and David Hyde Pierce.”

Crowe did see some success in last year’s The Pope’s Exorcist mostly because his character was so over-the-top and infused with such comical hubris it bordered on parody. We will see if that is the route actor-turned-director Joshua John Miller takes with The Exorcism.
