The movie M3GAN was a surprise success at the box office and now she is making her way to Peacock with both the theatrical version and the unrated version according to a press release from NBCUniversal. It all begins on February 24.
Screenwriter Akela Cooper hinted at the possibility of the film having an unedited version last month in the Los Angeles Times.
“No shade to Universal, love them, and I understand that once the trailer went viral, teenagers got involved and you want them to be able to see it. There should be an unrated version at some point,” she told the publication. “I heard it is on the books. But yes, it was way gorier. Her body count in the script was higher than in the movie.”
It was also announced that the unedited version will be released on digital February 24 with a Blu-Ray and DVD on March 24.

As Gemma faces pressure at work from her boss (Ronny Chieng, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) to deliver a finished version of M3GAN, she suddenly becomes the unprepared caretaker of her newly orphaned 8-year-old niece, Cady (Violet McGraw, The Haunting of Hill House). Gemma decides to pair the M3GAN prototype with Cady in an attempt to resolve both problems—a decision that will have unimaginable consequences.”
There is a M3GAN sequel planned for January 2025.
