Netflix Unveils ‘Dead Boy Detectives’ First Look [Trailer]

Netflix has recently released the first glimpses of its much-anticipated series, “Dead Boy Detectives.” Originally destined for Max, this series brings to life the intriguing world created by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner in their Vertigo comics.
The heart of the show lies in its two main characters, Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland, portrayed by George Rexstrew and Jayden Revri, respectively. These characters are both best friends and ghosts, who delve into solving paranormal cases in the mortal realm. An interesting aspect of “Dead Boy Detectives” is its connection to the Sandman universe. The characters, first introduced in Gaiman’s Sandman comics in the early 1990s, find a new life in this series. Initially developed for Max as part of DC Universe plans, the series found its way to Netflix after a strategic reshuffle at Warner Bros. Discovery.

The series is described as a thrilling adventure where the Dead Boy Detectives agency tackles various supernatural dilemmas. With no premiere date set yet, anticipation is high for “Dead Boy Detectives.” The series promises to be a unique addition to Netflix’s roster, blending mystery, supernatural elements, and the creative genius of Neil Gaiman.

‘Sweet Home’ Returns After Two Years For a Bloody Season 2

On December 1, the long-awaited Netflix show Sweet Home returned for season 2. If you aren’t familiar with this South Korean gore-fest, you’re not alone. But it is a popular series for fans who have followed the webtoon. It’s also had a two-year hiatus in between seasons with another one reportedly in the works.
The series follows, “Hyun, a loner high school student who lost his entire family in a terrible accident, is forced to leave his home and has to face a new reality where monsters are trying to wipe out all of humanity. Now he must fight against all odds to try and race against the clock to save what is left of the human race before it’s too late.”

Season two takes place in “A world where desire turns monstrous. The Green Home survivors and Hyun-su each fight to survive in new places, while other beings and mysterious phenomena emerge. New desires and more struggles unfold in this Netflix series.”
The first series was among one of Netflix’s highest-rated shows after its release. Praise went to its astounding special effects and character development. But many called out the lackluster tone in the final episodes of season one. Hopefully season two recaptures all the action, gore, and suspense that made the first such a favorite.

True Detective: Night Country Drops New Trailer

Time is a flat circle. Luckily that circle is filled with more seasons of True Detective. And fans won’t have to wait long for the next installment of this iconic series. True Detective: Night Country will be released on Max on January 14th, 2024.

True Detective showed audiences what a well done horror/drama series could accomplish with the right talent and script. Mixing in down to earth problems with a Lovecraftian flair impressed fans and critics alike. Unfortunately, True Detective was unable to live up to those expectations in the following seasons.
But that doesn’t mean the studio should stop trying to exceed expectations again. Max seems to realize this and is going all out for this season. True Detective: Night Country is written by Issa Lopez (Tigers are Not Afraid). And will star Jodie Foster (The Silence of the Lambs) along with Kali Reis (Catch the Fair One).
This will be the first season of True Detective that will not feature Nic Pizzolatto (The Magnificent Seven). But that may be for the best. Sometimes a change is needed for a show to grow and reach its potential. Only time will tell.
This time around our detectives will be battling against the Alaskan winter as well as whatever cult like activity that they come across. All in all, I am very excited for this season of the show. Let’s just hope that True Detective wasn’t just a flash in the pan.
That’s all the information we have for you at this time. Make sure to check out the new trailer below. As always, make sure to check back here for updates and all of your horror news.

‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ Trailer Unleashes a New Threat and Upgrades

Director Adam Wingard (You’re Next, The Guest) is back with a sequel to his Kaiju film Godzilla Vs. Kong. This time around, however, we are going to see Godzilla and Kong join forces to take out a new threat in the New Empire. And to make things even more exciting the new threat that takes the form of a red ape, may just be the original King Kong of the Titans. It looks like he isn’t too happy about what has been going on in Hollow Earth.
The new baddie isn’t the only upgrade we see in the new trailer. We also see Kong put a golden gauntlet to use while we see Godzilla put a new violet atomic breath to work. I’m sure the new additions are going to be needed to take down the new menace.

The synopsis for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire goes like this:
The epic battle continues! Legendary Pictures’ cinematic Monsterverse follows up the explosive showdown of “Godzilla vs. Kong” with an all-new adventure that pits the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence—and our own. “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” delves further into the histories of these Titans and their origins, as well as the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.
The film stars Rebecca Hall (“Godzilla vs. Kong,” The Night House”), Brian Tyree Henry (“Godzilla vs. Kong,” “Bullet Train”), Dan Stevens (“Gaslit,” “Legion,” “Beauty and the Beast”), Kaylee Hottle (“Godzilla vs. Kong”), Alex Ferns (“The Batman,” “Wrath of Man,” “Chernobyl”) and Fala Chen (“Irma Vep,” “Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”).
You can catch Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire when it drops into theaters in 2024.
