Mortal Kombat

Mortal Kombat is making the rounds on the internet as of late with a beautiful Unreal 5 sheen to it. These fantastic looking proof-of-concept videos by Eyeballistic Games have whipped fans into a frenzy. A petition created by fans on Change.org has a whopping 15,000 signatures. That number is growing.

The first three games are among the best ever among fans. The nostalgia factor plays a large part of that equation but, the first three games did maintain the original formula for the violent fighting series. Since, the original trilogy the game has gone on to expand in scale. From the story, to characters and beyond the game is now a much different and more complex experience.

The videos don’t actually show off any fighting but it does show Scorpion going up against Baraka in a couple of classic levels. The videos have done their job though. It has launched a huge fan demand for a trilogy remaster with the Unreal 5 engine.

NetherRealm Studios is going big on the next MK entry with Mortal Kombat 12. The massively popular MK 11 has done very well all around and still has a life due to constant new content updates.

There is no official plans at the moment but like most things if the internet pushes hard enough we might be receiving a nice trilogy remake sooner than later.
