Joker: Folie à Deux has started filming and to mark the occasion director Todd Phillips shared a production photo via his Instagram. In the first peek we see Arthur Fleck sitting down for a shave. He is obviously still locked inside of an institution. Maybe this is a peek moments before he is set to escape and use that razor against that guard?

If you recall, the first film left Arthur locked inside Arkham Asylum following some murders and taking part in a city-wide riot. His new environment will inevitably lead him to counseling sessions with Harley Quinn. I can’t wait to see their romance bud on screen. I would like to see a warm (and psychotic) relationship between him and her for once.

The synopsis for Joker went like this:

Forever alone in a crowd, failed comedian Arthur Fleck seeks connection as he walks the streets of Gotham City. Arthur wears two masks — the one he paints for his day job as a clown, and the guise he projects in a futile attempt to feel like he’s part of the world around him. Isolated, bullied and disregarded by society, Fleck begins a slow descent into madness as he transforms into the criminal mastermind known as the Joker.

Jokers sequel arrives in theaters beginning October 4, 2024.
