“It’s just a bunch of Hocus Pocus!” Merchandise That Is…

Published

Hocus Pocus

Am I the only one who feels like we just finished up with Christmas and all the sudden it’s time to decorate for Halloween again? Okay…I’m late. Some of you have already gotten it done! Still, there’s always room for one more item and this year, Hocus Pocus has been on my mind.

Honestly, when the Halloween season hits, Hocus Pocus is usually on my mind, but with the promise of a sequel this Fall, my home is just begging for something new to celebrate the Sanderson Sisters.

With that in mind, I began searching the internet, far and wide, for the coolest movie merch and for once, the internet did not disappoint. Naturally, because I’m such a nice guy, I thought I’d share my finds with you! Take a look at some of my favorite items below, and let us know which ones you love the most!

#1 Black Flame Candle from DarkfeastCreations on Etsy

If Max hadn’t lit that candle, there wouldn’t have been much of a movie, and DarkfeastCreations on Etsy has taken their time painstakingly re-creating the magical item that brought the Sanderson sisters back to life. The nine-inch-tall candle is a solid wax pillar with an LED flickering light/wick so it’s safe to set up and leave it burning throughout the season.

The product description does come with this note attached:

“This Black Flame Candle replica is NOT actually made from the fat of a hanged man…it’s actually real wax and LED magic.”

Sadly, this means it most likely will not resurrect long-dead witches who will try to take over the world. Well…no one is perfect, I guess. The candle retails for $52 and can be ordered by CLICKING HERE.

#2 Black Cat Curse/Life Potion Spellbook by WickedWeirdCreations on Etsy

Hocus Pocus Book

I mean, who didn’t want the spellbook from the movie? I know I did!

The creators at WickedWeirdCreations provide the following in the product description:

“The Spell Book is made from an old book. The pages are glued open to spell page and the book does not close. Book pages have been burned and discolored to give it an aged look. The back of the book has been textured and painted black.”

Yeah, but does it fly and answer when it’s called? Okay, maybe not, but it’s still a perfect piece of decor for Halloween, maybe propped up next to a cauldron full of goodies! The spellbook is $49.95 and can be PURCHASED HERE.

#3 Spell Book Box by CDWArtShop on Etsy

While we’re on the subject of that fabulous spell book, this spell book box just knocked our striped socks off! The product measure 10.5″H x 7″W x 3″D and is perfect for hiding away your most prized secrets. It’s also a great decorative piece for parties! Each item is handmade and retails for $135. ORDER YOURS HERE!

#4 Sanderson Sisters Plush by Disney.com

Hocus Pocus Sandersons

These adorable plush come directly from the Disney Store. Each is 12.5″ tall and is beautifully detailed. It’s the perfect gift for the little witchling in your life, or, you know, for yourself. Who are we kidding?! The plush are sold separately and each retails at $16.99. Order your Winifred, Mary, and Sarah Sanderson plush today! Start by CLICKING HERE.

#5 Binx Plush by Disney.com

Hocus Pocus Binx

While we’re on the subject of plush, I couldn’t pass up this 15″ tall plush of Binx, the (nearly) immortal cat and Hocus Pocus beacon of hope. Also sold on Disney.com, this black cat with his witch’s hat and bright, shiny eyes is most definitely good luck. ORDER BINX HERE.

#6 Hocus Pocus the Game by Disney.com

Looking for a fun, spooky game for the whole family? Check out this board game built around Hocus Pocus and sold by Disney.com. In the game, you’ll work together to foil the plans of the Sanderson sisters with a little help from Binx the cat along the way! Your goal? Destroy their potion three times before the sun rises.

The game retails for $24.99. ORDER HERE.

#7 Hocus Pocus Wine Glasses by AME Personalized on Etsy

Perfect for a small gathering group-watch of Hocus Pocus, these glasses celebrate some of our favorite moments from the movie! Let your inner Mary, Winnie, or Sarah shine as you sip your favorite wine and recite your favorite lines! The set of four glasses retail for $25.99 and can be ORDERE HERE.

#8 “Come We Fly!” Key Holder by AbandonedReality on Etsy

Hocus Pocus Key Holder

Simple, but chuckle-worthy, this key holder is built around one of my favorite moments in the movie! After the witches’ brooms are purloined, they must fine another way to travel. Thankfully for them, the cleaning crew at the museum doesn’t lock their broom closet! Watching Mary figure out how to work the vacuum was priceless, and this key holder will let you relive that moment again and again. ORDER YOURS HERE and Broom Ho!!

#9 “It is but water!” Water Bottle by DirtyPrettyThings105 on Etsy

Want to find out who at your gym is actually the coolest? Try carrying this water bottle with you! It’s not the burning rain of death! It’s actually most refreshing. The bottle is only $8 and can be PURCHASED HERE.

#10 Nice Butt Poster by Christophermanshop on Etsy

You can call it crass all you want, but this cracks me up! Can you just imagine what kind of butt it would take to stop all three witches in their tracks to appreciate?! I can. And it’s glorious.

This print starts at $16.95 with several sizing options. Find the one that’s right for you by CLICKING HERE!

‘Evil Dead’ Film Franchise Getting TWO New Installments

Published

on

It was a risk for Fede Alvarez to reboot Sam Raimi’s horror classic The Evil Dead in 2013, but that risk paid off and so did its spiritual sequel Evil Dead Rise in 2023. Now Deadline is reporting that the series is getting, not one, but two fresh entries.

We already knew about the Sébastien Vaniček upcoming film that delves into the Deadite universe and should be a proper sequel to the latest film, but we are broadsided that Francis Galluppi and Ghost House Pictures are doing a one-off project set in Raimi’s universe based off of an idea that Galluppi pitched to Raimi himself. That concept is being kept under wraps.

Evil Dead Rise

“Francis Galluppi is a storyteller who knows when to keep us waiting in simmering tension and when to hit us with explosive violence,” Raimi told Deadline. “He is a director that shows uncommon control in his feature debut.”

That feature is titled The Last Stop In Yuma County which will release theatrically in the United States on May 4. It follows a traveling salesman, “stranded at a rural Arizona rest stop,” and “is thrust into a dire hostage situation by the arrival of two bank robbers with no qualms about using cruelty-or cold, hard steel-to protect their bloodstained fortune.”

Galluppi is an award-winning sci-fi/horror shorts director whose acclaimed works include High Desert Hell and The Gemini Project. You can view the full edit of High Desert Hell and the teaser for Gemini below:

‘Invisible Man 2’ Is “Closer Than Its Ever Been” to Happening

Published

on

Elisabeth Moss in a very well-thought-out statement said in an interview for Happy Sad Confused that even though there have been some logistical issues for doing Invisible Man 2 there is hope on the horizon.

Podcast host Josh Horowitz asked about the follow-up and if Moss and director Leigh Whannell were any closer to cracking a solution to getting it made. “We are closer than we have ever been to cracking it,” said Moss with a huge grin. You can see her reaction at the 35:52 mark in the below video.

Happy Sad Confused

Whannell is currently in New Zealand filming another monster movie for Universal, Wolf Man, which might be the spark that ignites Universal’s troubled Dark Universe concept which hasn’t gained any momentum since Tom Cruise’s failed attempt at resurrecting The Mummy.

Also, in the podcast video, Moss says she is not in the Wolf Man film so any speculation that it’s a crossover project is left in the air.

Meanwhile, Universal Studios is in the middle of constructing a year-round haunt house in Las Vegas which will showcase some of their classic cinematic monsters. Depending on attendance, this could be the boost the studio needs to get audiences interested in their creature IPs once more and to get more films made based on them.

The Las Vegas project is set to open in 2025, coinciding with their new proper theme park in Orlando called Epic Universe.

Jake Gyllenhaal’s Thriller ‘Presumed Innocent’ Series Gets Early Release Date

Published

on

Jake gyllenhaal presumed innocent

Jake Gyllenhaal’s limited series Presumed Innocent is dropping on AppleTV+ on June 12 instead of June 14 as originally planned. The star, whose Road House reboot has brought mixed reviews on Amazon Prime, is embracing the small screen for the first time since his appearance on Homicide: Life on the Street in 1994.

Jake Gyllenhaal’s in ‘Presumed Innocent’

Presumed Innocent is being produced by David E. Kelley, J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot, and Warner Bros. It is an adaptation of Scott Turow’s 1990 film in which Harrison Ford plays a lawyer doing double duty as an investigator looking for the murderer of his colleague.

These types of sexy thrillers were popular in the ’90s and usually contained twist endings. Here’s the trailer for the original:

According to Deadline, Presumed Innocent doesn’t stray far from the source material: “…the Presumed Innocent series will explore obsession, sex, politics and the power and limits of love as the accused fights to hold his family and marriage together.”

Up next for Gyllenhaal is the Guy Ritchie action movie titled In the Grey scheduled for release in January 2025.

Presumed Innocent is an eight-episode limited series set to stream on AppleTV+ starting June 12.
