‘In Search of Darkness III’ Trailer Dives Into More Great 80’s Horror

We Have Loved the First Two of These

by Trey Hilburn III

In Search of Darkness III is on its way. The deep dive 80s horror documentary is on its third entry. This time around, you get to back the picture and then choose exactly what movies they decide to cover.

The first two films took us across the 80s landscape with horror icons giving commentary on the films and the decade as a whole. Both parts are now on Shudder and if you haven’t given them a look they are perfect October views.

The third entry will be backed by fans and then turned into a film with the fans choosing which films make the cut for the end of the In Search of Darkness trilogy.

New cast members include,

New cast members,  Dee Wallace (Actor – The Howling, Cujo, Critters), Adrienne Barbeau (Actor – The Fog, Creepshow) and Julie Brown (Actor – Bloody Birthday, Earth Girls Are Easy) will join returning favorites such as Robert Englund (Actor – A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise), Linnea Quigley (Actor – The Return of the Living Dead, Night of the Demons), Tom Savini (SFX – Friday the 13th, Day of the Dead), and Doug Bradley (Actor – Hellraiser franchise).

The official synopsis goes like this:

In this epic final chapter, our focus turns to the straight-to-video horror classics that populated the bottom shelves at the video rental store. Imaginative, gory, experimental – but always entertaining – these hidden gems are ripe for rediscovery, and we can’t wait to shine a spotlight on these lesser-known and underrated titles. We’ll also be giving some overdue attention to select theatrical releases yet to be covered by the series.

Head over to In Search of Darkness’ site for details. The first two parts are on Shudder, I’m hoping that the third entry finds its way to the horror streaming service too eventually. When it does we will update you with a release date.
