Full Moon Features Takes a Humorous Jab at Overused CGI with ‘Bad CGI Gator’ [Trailer]

Embracing humor in the face of excessive CGI, Full Moon Features unveils ‘Bad CGI Gator’. Set in Georgia’s swamplands, this tongue-in-cheek film tells the story of six college graduates on spring break. Their act of youthful rebellion—tossing school laptops into a lake—unexpectedly transforms an alligator into the monstrous ‘Bad CGI Gator.’
Director Danny Draven and writer Zalman Band playfully poke fun at the industry’s over-reliance on CGI, a trend popularized by movies like “Sharknado.” Charles Band, from Full Moon, comments on the film’s intention as a fun antidote to the genre’s CGI overuse.
There’s also something smart about this approach. By rolling with the whole ‘bad CGI’ theme, they’ve managed to create something entertaining without blowing their budget. It’s a cool example of how you can make a splash in filmmaking without splashing out too much cash. Clever storytelling, a bit of humor, and embracing the quirks can go a long way.

True Detective: Night Country Drops New Trailer

Time is a flat circle. Luckily that circle is filled with more seasons of True Detective. And fans won’t have to wait long for the next installment of this iconic series. True Detective: Night Country will be released on Max on January 14th, 2024.

True Detective showed audiences what a well done horror/drama series could accomplish with the right talent and script. Mixing in down to earth problems with a Lovecraftian flair impressed fans and critics alike. Unfortunately, True Detective was unable to live up to those expectations in the following seasons.
But that doesn’t mean the studio should stop trying to exceed expectations again. Max seems to realize this and is going all out for this season. True Detective: Night Country is written by Issa Lopez (Tigers are Not Afraid). And will star Jodie Foster (The Silence of the Lambs) along with Kali Reis (Catch the Fair One).
This will be the first season of True Detective that will not feature Nic Pizzolatto (The Magnificent Seven). But that may be for the best. Sometimes a change is needed for a show to grow and reach its potential. Only time will tell.
This time around our detectives will be battling against the Alaskan winter as well as whatever cult like activity that they come across. All in all, I am very excited for this season of the show. Let’s just hope that True Detective wasn’t just a flash in the pan.
That’s all the information we have for you at this time. Make sure to check out the new trailer below. As always, make sure to check back here for updates and all of your horror news.

‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ Trailer Unleashes a New Threat and Upgrades

Director Adam Wingard (You’re Next, The Guest) is back with a sequel to his Kaiju film Godzilla Vs. Kong. This time around, however, we are going to see Godzilla and Kong join forces to take out a new threat in the New Empire. And to make things even more exciting the new threat that takes the form of a red ape, may just be the original King Kong of the Titans. It looks like he isn’t too happy about what has been going on in Hollow Earth.
The new baddie isn’t the only upgrade we see in the new trailer. We also see Kong put a golden gauntlet to use while we see Godzilla put a new violet atomic breath to work. I’m sure the new additions are going to be needed to take down the new menace.

The synopsis for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire goes like this:
The epic battle continues! Legendary Pictures’ cinematic Monsterverse follows up the explosive showdown of “Godzilla vs. Kong” with an all-new adventure that pits the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence—and our own. “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” delves further into the histories of these Titans and their origins, as well as the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.
The film stars Rebecca Hall (“Godzilla vs. Kong,” The Night House”), Brian Tyree Henry (“Godzilla vs. Kong,” “Bullet Train”), Dan Stevens (“Gaslit,” “Legion,” “Beauty and the Beast”), Kaylee Hottle (“Godzilla vs. Kong”), Alex Ferns (“The Batman,” “Wrath of Man,” “Chernobyl”) and Fala Chen (“Irma Vep,” “Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”).
You can catch Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire when it drops into theaters in 2024.

Fallout Series Drops New Trailer!

There’s no way they will mess this up, right? A new trailer is here for the new Fallout streaming series. For those unfamiliar, Fallout stands as one of the best FPS RPGs ever crafted. The series is known for being both whacky and somehow very dark at the same time. What else could be expected from a game about life after a nuclear apocalypse?
Obviously, this isn’t the only game series that focuses on this specific end of the world scenario. The standout feature of Fallout is the world it leaves behind. Instead of survivors going from normal life to instant atomic destruction, Fallout places the characters in the 1940s only to awaken in 2077 after the atomic destruction has changed the world.

This sets the player up for a fun juxtaposition of super futuristic tech combined with the aesthetic of the American 1940s. The trailer makes it seem like the series will focus more on the action and adventure of the series while making sure to sprinkle in some of the whimsical aspects from time to time.
Even though I was hoping for a more Fallout: New Vegas vibe, this trailer still has me stoked for the premiere. It can’t be any worse than the release of Fallout 76. Bethesda is famously known for releasing half done and buggy projects. Let’s hope that Amazon’s attention to detail shines through on this project. That’s all the information we have on this project. Make sure to check out the new trailer below.
