El-Rey Network Gives You a Blood Soaked, Italian Valentines Day

Published

on

The best way to tell a horror fan you love them is to watch some great, gore filled flicks with them and the El-Rey Network has a whole lot of love to give. That’s why they are presenting the Rip Your Heart Out marathon, a mostly Italian exploitation filled horror bonanza, which includes work from directors like Dario Argento and Lucio Fulci!

This Valentines Day, Saturday, February 14th, starting at 10 am, the event kicks off with El Rey Network Presents: The Director’s Chair, which happens to feature John Carpenter himself! Then, the Rip Your Heart Out marathon starts it’s mostly Italian show with The Black Belly of the Tarantula, City of the Living Dead, Rats: Night of Terror, The Black Cat, Deathdream, Opera, and New York Ripper.

This makes me excited because this line-up of movies feels like it was made just for me. A couple of my personal favorites are in here, including Deathdream from the late Bob Clark. Finally, a movie marathon just for me? You really love me, El Rey! Ahem, be sure to check out the trailer and the schedule below.

Samara Weaving is Going to Kick-Butt Again in Simon Barrett’s ‘Azrael’

Published

Weaving

Samara Weaving is our favorite current final girl. She has made herself a place within the walls of horror and action. Good thing You’re Next writer Simon Barrett knows that and is going to put Weaving into action in his next film, Azrael.

Barrett also wrote the balls-to-the-wall action film, The Guest; which we still entirely love. The writer has always been able to turn genre inside out and mix several elements together into a perfect cocktail. Needless to say we are excited to see Azrael and what Weaving will bring to it.

“Story details are being kept under wraps on this one, but we know that Joker financier Jason Cloth and his C2 Motion Picture Group partner Dave Caplan recently won the rights in a competitive situation and will finance and produce.” Deadline reports.

There are no details on Azrael or who Weaving will play in the film, but the folks working on it are already hoping that they have a franchise in the midst with this one kicking it off.

We will keep you updated on further developments.

‘Solar Opposites: Halloween Special’ Trailer Takes the Series into the Spooky Season

Published

Solar

Solar Opposites has dropped a trailer for its Halloween Special and it looks like a blast. The Justin Roiland series is a nice change up from the sci-fi antics of Rick and Morty, but still has a lot of the same voices and debauchery. The Halloween episode takes the extraterrestrial family down a path of the macabre and even takes them into hell itself.

The synopsis for Solar Opposites season 3 goes like this:

Co-created by Justin Roiland (“Rick & Morty”) and Mike McMahan (“Rick & Morty”, “Star Trek: Lower Decks”), “Solar Opposites” centers around a team of four aliens who are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Korvo (Justin Roiland) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love TV, junk food and fun stuff. In season three, this alien team strives to be less of a team and more of a family team.

Solar Opposites: Halloween Special arrives on Hulu beginning October 3.
