A TikTok user that goes by the handle Paranormaltheory uploaded a few creepy alleged paranormal videos at the beginning of June. Those videos have since gone viral and it is no wonder why.
These types of paranormal videos are all over social media these days. You can easily find one by typing in the appropriate hashtag. And most of the time they are questionable. But this one seems different.
When it comes to children and the paranormal, enthusiasts tend to be a little more intrigued because most people believe children (and pets) are more sensitive to incorporeal beings therefore they can see what adults cannot.
This belief is evidenced in the following videos. A young child named Elliot is innocently drawing the layout of his room on a chalkboard when his father comes in. His dad notices something out of place in the sketch, a figure seemingly hanging by a rope, and asks why he would put that in the drawing. “‘Cause he’s hanging up there,” the child says pointing to the corner of the ceiling in his room.
The kid then goes on to explain that the unseen man “annoys me at night.” Jump to the third video and there is evidence of that too.
Everyone, including paranormal enthusiasts, is skeptical when it comes to videos like these. Not that ghosts aren’t real, but that the video is fake. In this day and age, anyone can manipulate anything on the internet, even history. Chatbot GBT anyone? Also, we don’t want to believe a father would want to terrorize his son like that just for the sake of “likes.”
But there is something unnerving about Elliot and his “hanging ghost man” in these videos. The way he looks at the same spot on his ceiling consistently, the strange groans caught on the microphone, and how he seems carefree but slightly rattled by his encounters. And of course, him being pulled out of bed in the middle of the night (although the culprit is offscreen).
