The ever-classic line “It has already been brought-en” is a reply forever-burned into history. Of course, it was from the very first Bring it On film that starred Kirsten Dunst and Eliza Dushku. These films have gone on in both straight to video and straight to streaming over the years. It now looks like the Bring it On franchise is going horror for its next entry.
A lot of films and shows that happen in schools or in cliques are easy to redirect into a horror-related picture. I’m not going to lie, I often thought about how interesting it would have been if Dushku’s character in Bring it On had ended up being a killer, taking out the rival squad one by one. Plus, the comedy and tone in place would have already served the slasher genre really well.
Both Rebekah McKendry (Glorious) and Dana Schwartz (She-Hulk) are onboard as writers for the new franchise turn. Both women’s involvement is really a exciting and is a nice direction for the slasher take.
