‘American McGee’s Alice’ Gothic Classic Game is Being Adapted to TV Series

Published

Wonderland

I remember specifically getting a PC in order to play American McGee’s Alice. The gothic take on Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland featured a psychotic and suicidal Alice at its core. This deeply disturbed Alice had to return to a twisted Wonderland where she was forced to fight and kill evil versions of the friends that she had previously made thorough the looking glass. Now, Radar Pictures is adapting both American McGee’s Alice and the sequel, Alice: The Madness Returns games to a TV series.

The synopsis for American McGee’s Alice goes like this:

Shortly after Alice returned from the miraculous trip through the Looking-Glass, her house was burnt down, and her parents died in the fire. Alice was the only survivor of the terrible accident. After repeated attempts at suicide, she gets locked up inside a mental institution and is slowly wasting away there before she is summoned to Wonderland again by the White Rabbit. But this time it’s a Wonderland gone seriously bad and gory. The only chance for Alice to restore her peace of mind and find out more about the death of her parents is to fight through Wonderland and free it from the evil powers.

Wonderland

David Hayter is going to come on as showrunner and steer the new take of Alice and her twisted Wonderland.

American McGee’s Alice and Alice: Madness Returns game series is a groundbreaking reimagining of the classic tale.” Hayder said. “It takes you into the heart of a corrupted Wonderland and throws light into shadowy corners the world has never seen. I am beyond excited to bring this world of madness and wonder to a global audience.”

It will be interesting to see what Hayter does with these worlds. The video games were complete savagely strange recreations of Carroll’s Wonderland. If done right, this series could potentially blow horror fan’s minds.

Megan Fox Set to Play Nitara in ‘Mortal Kombat 1’

Published

Fox

Mortal Kombat 1 is shaping up to be an all-new experience that looks to transform the series into something new to fans. One of the surprises has been the casting of celebrities as the characters in the game. For one Jean Claude Van Damme is going to play Johnny Cage. Now, we know that Megan Fox is set to play Nitara in the game.

“She comes from this weird realm, she is a type of vampire creature,” Fox said. “She’s evil but she’s also good. She’s trying to save her people. I really like her. She’s a vampire which obviously resonates for whatever reason. It’s cool to be in the game, you know? Because I’m not really just voicing it, it’ll be like she’s kind of me.”

Fox grew up playing Mortal Kombat and is completely in shock that she is able to play a character from the game she was such a big fan of.

Nitara is a vampire character and after watching Jennifer’s Body it really does make for a nice crossover for Fox.

Fox will play Nitara in Mortal Kombat 1 when it releases on September 19.

‘RoboCop: Rogue City’ Trailer Brings Back Peter Weller to Play Murphy

Published

Rogue

RoboCop is one of the all-time best. The full-throttle satire is the film that keeps on giving. Director, Paul Verhoeven gave us one of the very best that the 80s had to offer. That is why it’s so great to see that actor Peter Weller is back to play RoboCop. It’s also very cool that the game borrows from the film by bringing TV commercials into the action in order to add some of its very own humor and satire.

Teyon’s RoboCop looks to be a wall-to-wall shoot ’em up. Literally, every screen has blood spurting from headshots or from other appendages flying off.

The synopsis for RoboCop: Rogue City breaks down like this:

The city of Detroit has been hit by a series of crimes, and a new enemy is threatening the public order. Your investigation leads you right into the heart of a shadowy project in an original story that takes place between RoboCop 2 and 3. Explore iconic locations and meet familiar faces from the world of RoboCop.

RoboCop: Rogue City is set to drop in September. With no exact date given, it is entirely likely that the game gets pushed back. Fingers crossed it stays on track. Expect it to arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC.
