Today the official trailer has been released for a new documentary, King on Screen, that Dark Star Pictures has acquired the North American rights.

Over the years, Stephen King has gained recognition as an immensely popular and prolific author known for his mastery of horror, supernatural, and suspense. His writing style is often characterized by vivid descriptions and compelling characters, and he just has an overall knack for building that suspense that we’ve all come to enjoy.

King has the ability to create a sense of unease and terror in everyday settings; this has become quite a hallmark for the author. The dark side of human nature and how people treat each other is another trademark King often delivers within his characters.

The Synopsis: 1976; Brian de Palma directs Carrie, the first novel by Stephen King. Since then, more than 50 directors have adapted the master of horror’s books into more than 80 films and series, making him the most adapted author alive in the world. What’s so fascinating about him that filmmakers cannot stop adapting his works? KING ON SCREEN reunites the filmmakers that have adapted Stephen King’s books for cinema and TV, including Frank Darabont (Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Walking Dead), Tom Holland (The Langoliers, Chucky), Mick Garris (The Stand, Sleepwalkers) and Taylor Hackford (Dolores Claiborne, Ray). It is a movie made for the fans and with the fans, led by an international ambition.

The documentary will be in select theaters on August 11, 2023, and On Demand and Blu-Ray on September 8, 2023.

Well, it has been really quite out in the woods. You know the woods I’m talking about. Those backwoods. Those spooky, hillbilly mutant kinda woods. Well, it isn’t going to be quiet for long. According to creator Alan B. McElroy, there are two sequels to Wrong Turn in the works.

These next two entries will follow the reboot that circled around The Foundation and their back wood hijinks. While talking with McElroy the creator told Entertainment Weekly that he wanted to make this into a trilogy that would tell the entire tale of The Foundation and what they are up to.

The 2021 Wrong Turn took us on a different kind of ride, with a much different type of hillbilly. Don’t get me wrong, these are still a very disturbed bunch of hillbillies but I tend to have fallen more in love with the mutants from the original Wrong Turn films.

Well, it sounds like McElroy is indeed in the process of working on more Wrong Turn films. So, it won’t take long now… hopefully.

Richard Brake is brilliant at being immensely creepy. His work in Rob Zombie’s films have all been memorable. Even his role in Halloween II in which he just died after a vehicular accident was a deeply disturbing death scene. In his new film, The Gates, Brake takes on this role and embodies it very well as a serial killer who has returned after execution to reap havoc.

The film also stars John Rhys-Davies who takes on the role of a paranormal investigator who is able to see folks through photography after the subject is dead.

The synopsis for The Gates goes like this:

A serial killer has been sentenced to death by electric chair in London in the 1890s, but in his final hours, he puts a curse on the prison he is in, and all of those in it.

We are really excited to see that Brake is playing an undead serial killer. It is a very strange one off

The Gates arrives on digital and DVD beginning June 27.
