Well, folks, we made it. The year 2020 is winding down and though it has been a test of the will somedays, we’ve still seen lots of great horror this year, and AMC’s Shudder has risen to the top of our list of providers with exclusive and original content alongside some of our favorite classic genre fare to keep us entertained.

December at Shudder is no different. The streaming platform has released their year-end calendar a bit early so we can get ready for all their spooky offerings!

From holiday specials to two knew collections–Unhappy Holidays and Holly Gialli Christmas–there’s something for everyone on Shudder in December 2020. Check out the full list of offerings and dates below and get ready to make the season spooky and bright!

December 2020 on Shudder

November 30th:

The following new offerings join previously available titles in an all-new Shudder collection called Unhappy Holidays. Other, previously released films include: Black Christmas (1974), All the Creatures were Stirring, Better Watch Out, Christmas Presence, Christmas Evil, A Christmas Horror Story, Deadly Games, Jack Frost, Red Christmas, and Silent Night, Deadly Night 2 among others. Blood Beat: When a young woman travels to meet her husband’s family in rural Wisconsin for the holidays, a dead Samurai’s spirit possesses her body, sending her on a murderous rampage. With that description could there be any doubt that this film was made in 1983?!

Body: Directors Dan Berk and Robert Olsen are back with this dark comedy about three coeds who decide to do a little breaking-and-entering on Christmas Eve and wind up in a “Hitchcockian nightmare steeped in tension, suspicion, double-crossing, and murder, where no one is to be trusted and a new twist lies around every corner.”

Rare Exports: Christmas in Northern Finland turns terrifying after an archaeological dig exhumes Santa Claus. This isn’t the guy in a red suit ready to spread holiday cheer, however. Soon children begin disappearing and after the dark Santa is trapped, his captors attempt to sell him to the corporation funding the dig.

Sheitan: On Christmas Eve, a group of guys meet two gorgeous girls who invite them to spend the weekend in the country, where they meet Joseph, a creepy unkempt man whose pregnant wife is hidden in the house. That evening, their innocent Christmas dinner turns into disturbing conversations about sex, satanic possession and incest. Joseph’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic and the young friends realize all hell is about to break loose.

December 1st:

Bram Stoker’s Dracula: Director Francis Ford Coppola’s take on the classic vampire tale starring Gary Oldman, Keanu Reeves, and Winona Ryder with Anthony Hopkins and Tom Waits.

The Lost Boys: Joel Schumacher’s rock-n-roll 80s vampire tale centers on a mother and her two sons who move to Santa Clara, a coastal town with its own Boardwalk and carnival that’s also overrun by a gang of young vampires. When the older son becomes entangled in the group, it’s up to the younger son and a pair of comic-obsessed brothers to save him and their family.

December 2nd:

Get ready for some of the most stylish horror of all time as Shudder unveils its largest collection of Giallo films ever from Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci, Lamberto Bava, Michele Soavi, Sergio Martino and many, many more for their Holly Gialli Christmas collection! The films listed below join previously available titles including All the Colors of the Dark, The Cat O’Nine Tales, Deep Red, Don’t Torture a Duckling, Knife + Heart, Phenomena, The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh and Tenebrae. A Blade in the Dark: Director Lamberto Bava’s 1983 film centers on a killer who stalks a composer staying at a posh Tuscany villa while writing the score to a horror film which has an incriminating clue to the killer’s identity.

Black Belly of the Tarantula: A series of victims are paralyzed while having their bellies ripped open, much in the same way tarantulas are killed by the black wasp in this giallo film from Paolo Cavara. The victims all seem to have a connection with a spa.

The Case of the Bloody Iris: After escaping a hippie sex cult, a young woman finds herself pursued by a serial killer whose previous victims include the previous occupants of her apartment.

The Corruption of Chris Miller:  A serial killer uses a scythe to kill his–or is it her–victims in this classic giallo from Juan Antonio Bardem.

Death Laid an Egg: A love triangle develops between three people who run a high tech chicken farm. It involves Anna (who owns the farm), her husband Marco (who kills prostitutes in his spare time) and Gabriella (the very beautiful secretary). Marco continues to kill as jealousy becomes more prevalent on the farm.

The Editor: A film editor becomes embroiled in a string of murders in this darkly comic 2014 Canadian giallo film starring Paz de la Huerta from directors Adam Brooks and Matthew Kennedy.

The Fifth Cord: A journalist finds himself on the trail of a murderer who’s been targeting people around him, while the police consider him a suspect in their investigation.

The New York Ripper: A burned-out New York police detective teams up with a college psychoanalyst to track down a vicious serial killer randomly stalking and killing various young women around the city in this classic by Lucio Fulci.

The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave: A rich, mentally unstable man who’s obsessed with his deceased wife invites women to the family castle for a game of deadly S&M. He suddenly decides to get married to the beautiful Gladys, but does she have his best interests at heart?

The Red Queen Kills Seven Times: When two sisters inherit their family castle, a string of murders committed by a mysterious dark haired woman in a red cloak targets their circle of friends. Is the killer their ancestor, the “Red Queen”, who legend says claims seven lives every hundred years.

Short Night of Glass Dolls: An American journalist temporarily stationed in Central Europe searches for his new girlfriend, who has suddenly disappeared.

Stagefright: A group of stage actors lock themselves in the theater for a rehearsal of their upcoming musical production, unaware that an escaped psychopath has sneaked into the theater with them.

Torso: A string of appalling lust murders shocks the University of Perugia as a sadistic serial killer strangles to death beautiful college girls with a red and black scarf.

Trauma: A young man tries to help a teenage European girl who escaped from a clinic hospital after witnessing the murder of her parents by a serial killer and they try to find the killer before the killer finds them.

Your Vice is a Locked Room: A series of murders are committed near the estate of a degenerate author and his wife.

What Have You Done to Solange?: A teacher who is having an affair with one of his students takes her out on a boat. They see a knife killing on shore. Other gruesome murders start occurring shortly thereafter, and the teacher suspects that he may be the cause of them.

December 3rd:

Anything for Jackson: A SHUDDER ORIGINAL. After losing their only grandson in a car accident, grief-stricken Audrey and Henry, a doctor, kidnap his pregnant patient with the intentions of performing a “Reverse Exorcism”, putting Jackson inside her unborn child. It doesn’t take long to figure out Jackson isn’t the only ghost the grandparents invited into their home. Now it’s a race against time for the couple, as well as the pregnant woman to figure a way out of the haunting they’ve set upon themselves. (Also available on Shudder UK and Shudder ANZ)

Castle Freak: Tate Steinsiek directs this film about a recently blinded woman who inherits a castle from her long-lost mother only to discover dark family secrets are hidden in its depths. NO TRAILER AVAILABLE. (Also available on Shudder Canada) Note: Castle Freak and VFW were acquired prior to May 2020. December 7th:

Let the Corpses Tan: A hypnotically stylish, fever dream thriller from the team behind Amer and The Strange Color of Your Body’s Tears. During a beautiful Mediterranean summer, Rhino and his gang steal a cache of gold. They believe they’ve found the perfect hideout until surprise guests and two cops compromise their plan. VFW: A night at the local VFW go seriously awry for a group of veterans when a young girl runs into the bar with a bag of stolen drugs. (Also available on Shudder Canada)

Zombi Child: Acclaimed French filmmaker Bertrand Bonello brings the zombie film back to its Haitian roots. In 1962, a man is brought back from the dead to work on a sugar cane plantation; many years later, a teen tells her friends her family secret, not suspecting that it will push one of them to commit the irreparable. December 10th:

Eli Roth’s History of Horror Season 2: Award-winning director, writer and producer Eli Roth brings together the masters of horror for a chilling exploration of how horror has evolved and its impact on society. Season two episodes explore “Houses of Hell,” “Monsters,” “Body Horror,” “Witches,” “Chilling Children,” and “Nine Nightmares.” Season 2 of the companion podcast, History of Horror: Uncut, currently debuting new episodes on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and other podcast platforms, will also be available on Shudder on December 10th. December 11th:

Joe Bob Saves Christmas: The Christmas spirit takes over The Last Drive-In as Joe Bob and Darcy close out the year with a double feature of holiday horrors. The special airs at 9 pm ET and will be available on demand on December 13th. (Also available on Shudder Canada)

December 14th:

A Good Woman is Hard to Find: A recently widowed woman must do everything she can to protect her family while trying to discover who murdered her husband. (Also available on Shudder Canada)

Let Us Prey: A man brought to a police station possesses everyone’s darkest secrets. As the cops try to figure out who or what he is, they soon realize deadly retribution awaits anyone who stands in his way. This violent chiller is definitely not for the easily disturbed. December 17th:

The Pale Door: A SHUDDER EXCLUSIVE. The Dalton gang find shelter in a seemingly uninhabited ghost town after a train robbery goes south. Seeking help for their wounded leader, they are surprised to stumble upon a welcoming brothel in the town’s square. But the beautiful women who greet them are actually a coven of witches with very sinister plans for the unsuspecting outlaws – and the battle between good and evil is just beginning. December 18th:

A Creepshow Holiday Special: Anna Camp (True Blood) and Adam Pally (The Mindy Project) star in the holiday themed, hour-long episode, “Shapeshifters Anonymous.” Fearing he is a murderer, an anxious man searches for answers for his “unique condition” from an unusual support group. The special is written and directed by showrunner Greg Nicotero based on a story by J.A. Konrath. (Also available on Shudder Canada, Shudder UK and Shudder ANZ)

December 21st:

Luz: The Flower of Evil: El Señor, the leader of a small cult in the mountains, returns one day to his village with a child who is purported to be the new messiah. But when only pain and destruction befall the community, El Señor finds himself under attack from his own followers, including his three daughters, whose burgeoning femininity has already caused them to question their faith.
