Oh, man. This Sunday is the Super Bowl. You know what that means: food, friends, and Stranger Things. Wait, what?
That’s right, this Sunday, Stranger Things will invade your footballing fun. I don’t know if you can tell, but I don’t know the first thing about football. I CAN tell you, I will be tuning in on Sunday because, according to Entertainment Weekly, the Netflix original is premiering a teaser trailer for the second season.
Netflix released a single image from the trailer on Sunday. Check it out.
The new season will take place a year after the first in 1984 (as we can tell by Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) rocking the Ghostbusters uniforms). Everything else is very secretive but more might be revealed on Sunday. According to an interview Collider did with David Harbour:
“It’s a year later in the story, so there are several things that happened last year — like Will has come back — there are certain people in the town that know what happened, and then certain people that don’t know what happened. So there’s a lot of fall out with who knows what.”
Read more of his interview with Collider here. So, don’t forget. Even if you don’t like football, there’s an excuse to watch the Super Bowl this year and, if you’re lucky, the party will have free food too. The second season is set to hit Netflix later this year and according to an interview Shawn Levy did with EW, “The demogorgon was destroyed but evil wasn’t.”
If this doesn’t satisfy your love for Stranger Things, take a look behind the scenes at the demogorgon.
