A theatrical version of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower has long been awaited by fans for years it seems, and midnight is drawing ever so closer in regards to the movie’s release. Originally, The Dark Tower was slated to be released nationwide last month, going head to head with Peele’s Get Out, but the film was pushed back to July of this year giving fans of the Gunslinger all the anxiety attacks in anticipation of this long-awaited full-length movie about the frontiersman knight Roland Deschain and the malevolent Man in Black.
Last night, Warner Bros. Studios gave eager fans a first taste of what to expect from the upcoming Summer blockbuster with the release of the film’s first official movie poster. Be careful, this may give you a headache if try to go complete Linda Blair trying to examine it.
As you can see, this doesn’t look like the typical western setting as in the books. However, King has explained in the past that this film crosses into more of an urban world and isn’t so much a direct adaptation from the books, but rather a new take on the series itself. The film stars Idris Elba as Roland, Tom Taylor as Jake Chambers, and Matthew McConaughey as The Man in Black.
The Dark Tower hits theaters July 28, 2017 with a trailer rumored to hit the internet sometime this week so stay tuned!
