Mattel’s Monster High Skullector Series Welcomes Jack Skellington and Sally

Published

Monster High Mattel

Mattel’s renowned Monster High Skullector series, celebrated for its unique fusion of horror icons with the brand’s signature fashion flair, has unveiled its latest additions. As Halloween approaches, fans of Tim Burton’s classic “The Nightmare Before Christmas” are in for a treat. The series is set to introduce intricately designed dolls of the film’s beloved characters, Jack Skellington and Sally.

The Monster High Skullector series has previously captivated audiences with its fashion-forward renditions of horror legends such as Elvira, Annabelle, Chucky, and Tiffany. Continuing this tradition, the new Jack Skellington and Sally dolls are described as “hauntingly glamorous.” Their designs are so detailed and refined that they almost appear to be hand-drawn illustrations rather than tangible dolls.

Jack Skellington and Sally

Diving deeper into the design specifics, Jack Skellington boasts a stylized skeleton physique, donning a pinstriped suit adorned with a skull motif. His look is completed with his iconic bat bow tie and a pair of Spiral Hill-heeled oxfords. Sally, with her striking red hair, showcases meticulous stitching details. Her face, a masterpiece in itself, is accentuated with a thistle and bow headband. A notable design element is Sally’s heels, which carry a subtle poisonous Easter egg detail, a nod to the character’s origins.

Monster High Skullector – The Nightmare Before Christmas

For collectors and enthusiasts eager to get their hands on these limited-edition dolls, they will be available for purchase at $90. The release is scheduled for October 27 and can be found exclusively on the Mattel Creations website.

Rob Zombie Joins McFarlane Figurine’s “Music Maniacs” Line

Published

on

Rob Zombie is joining the growing cast of horror music legends for McFarlane collectibles. The toy company, headed by Todd McFarlane, has been doing its Movie Maniacs line since 1998, and this year they have created a new series called Music Maniacs. This includes legendary musicians, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, and Trooper Eddie from Iron Maiden.

Adding to that iconic list is director Rob Zombie formerly of the band White Zombie. Yesterday, via Instagram, Zombie posted that his likeness will join the Music Maniacs line. The “Dracula” music video inspires his pose.

He wrote: “Another Zombie action figure is headed your way from @toddmcfarlane ☠️ It’s been 24 years since the first one he did of me! Crazy! ☠️ Preorder now! Coming this summer.”

This won’t be the first time Zombie has been featured with the company. Back in 2000, his likeness was the inspiration for a “Super Stage” edition where he is equipped with hydraulic claws in a diorama made of stones and human skulls.

For now, McFarlane’s Music Maniacs collection is only available for pre-order. The Zombie figure is limited to only 6,200 pieces. Pre-order yours at the McFarlane Toys website.

The Tall Man Funko Pop! Is a Reminder of the Late Angus Scrimm

Phantasm tall man Funko pop

The Funko Pop! brand of figurines is finally paying homage to one of the scariest horror movie villains of all time, The Tall Man from Phantasm. According to Bloody Disgusting the toy was previewed by Funko this week.

The creepy otherworldly protagonist was played by the late Angus Scrimm who passed away in 2016. He was a journalist and B-movie actor who became a horror movie icon in 1979 for his role as the mysterious funeral home owner known as The Tall Man. The Pop! also includes the bloodsucking flying silver orb The Tall Man used as a weapon against trespassers.

He also spoke one of the most iconic lines in independent horror, “Boooy! You play a good game, boy, but the game is finished. Now you die!”

There is no word on when this figurine will be released or when preorders will go on sale, but it’s nice to see this horror icon remembered in vinyl.
