Neon’s second film to be lauded in 2024, Longlegs, is now available to but or rent on digital. The first one was Immaculate currently streaming on Hulu

Longlegs had one of the greatest marketing arcs of 2024. It started with a photo of what looked like a crime scene photo and slowly built from there.

The Neon social media pages began to get creative with clips and experiment with images which included obscuring Nicolas Cage’s creepy face as the movie’s serial killer.

It all apparently worked because Longlegs took home a whopping $22 million on its weekend domestic opening.

It held its own in the top 10 for nearly a month before succumbing to theater availability as bigger summer movies such as Deadpool & Wolverine and Twisters ate up theatrical real estate.

Fans seemed to admire the film for its eerie atmosphere infused with Cage’s deranged antagonist of the title and Maika Monroe’s troubled FBI agent on his trail.

Others thought the film was too convoluted and a bit pretentious trying too hard to stand out among other films of its ilk.

Overall, critics seemed impressed but viewers were less so giving it a dire C+ CinemaScore

Director Osgood Perkins’ next feature is an adaptation of Stephen King’s short story The Monkey which will release theatrically in February 2025.
