Remember when everyone and their cousin were obsessed with Pokemon Go? You’d drive by a park and it would be chock-full of strangers all searching for that one rare Pokemon. I never really understood the appeal, but this new announcement about a Walking Dead augmented reality game makes it all click for me. Why hunt for Pokemon when you can stalk around killing zombies? That’s my kind of mayhem.
As reported by Variety, AMC Networks and Next Games have created The Walking Dead: Our World, a location-based augmented reality game that puts you right in the middle of the fight against throngs of the undead. But you won’t be alone; popular characters from the show will join in to help you on your slaughter spree. You’ll battle alongside Rick, Michonne, and Darryl using guns, Michonne’s katana, grenades, and a slew of other super-effective weapons.
This, of course, isn’t the first game to come from The Walking Dead. They’ve been cashing in on the shows’ popularity for quite a while, but now they’re taking they’re -ahem- game to the next level with the inclusion of augmented reality.
Adding a horror element to augmented reality games seems like a total no-brainer. Us horror fans are always super eager to try anything that will bring a bit of fear and carnage into our everyday lives. There is a previously released AR horror game, Night Terrors, where users could – supposedly – live out their own horror movie. I tried it myself upon its initial release, but I found it was pretty glitchy and nothing really happened.
Now, that being said, The Walking Dead: Our World has the proper funding and the successful track record to make sure this game is done right. So as long as any bugs are worked out before its release, I think there’s a lot of potential here for a shit-ton of fun.
At this time, no official release date has been announced, but the game will be available for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.

‘Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’ Trailer Rolls a Natural 20
The latest trailer for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves could have gone one of two directions. It could have gone in a very serious Game of Thrones-like take on the world or to be a silly billy and play a campaign; that would be the equivalent of you playing D&D drunk with friends. The Chris McKay-written film decided to go with the latter. McKay also wrote, The Lego Movie to give you an idea of how he is a master of making seemingly impossible franchises a blast. He looks to have added a whole lot more of his wit and personality to this one. The result isn’t going to make all D&D fans happy but it certainly made this one more than happy.
There isn’t a correct way to make a Dungeons and Dragon film. The game itself is relative to the players that are involved. I have played hardcore serious matches and I have played Taco Bell and Vodka night games. And not gonna lie the Taco Bell and Vodka nights were always more fun and memorable. Also, Hugh Grant. That is all… Hugh Grant.
The synopsis for Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves goes like this:
“A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure.“
The film stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, Chloe Coleman, Daisy Head and Hugh Grant.
Prepare your D20 die when Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves arrives in theaters March 31.
Lucy Lawless’ Character is Coming to ‘Evil Dead: The Game’
Ruby was undoubtedly one of Ash Vs Evil Dead’s coolest and most interesting characters. Ruby drove around in a muscle car in search of the Necronomicon and Deadites. She, much like Ash had been touched by the darkness and had been transformed into a deadite in the past. So, she was a bit of a wildcard. Well, Lucy Lawless’ character Ruby is heading to Evil Dead: The Game and we can’t wait.
The synopsis for Evil Dead: The Game goes like this:
“Inspired by the iconic horror, humor and action of the Evil Dead franchise, Evil Dead: The Game brings the series’ biggest names together in a pulse-pounding battle with the forces of darkness. Work as a team of four Survivors to kick Deadite butt and banish the vile Kandarian Demon – or become the Demon yourself, using its powers of possession to stop the good guys dead and swallow their souls! Choose your squad with fan-favorite characters from every era in the series, and battle with a wide variety of weapons to survive the night in multiplayer and bonus single-player missions.“
Ruby will come with her own perks and abilities which will add to your team’s tactical play style.
The DLC update including Ruby arrives in Evil Dead: The Game beginning February 2. The DLC arrives on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®4, Xbox One and PC via the Epic Games Store.
James Gunn’s ‘Lollipop Chainsaw’ Gets First Look at Upcoming Remake
Dragami Games has shared the first official peek at the upcoming remake of Lollipop Chainsaw. The awesome over-the-top cheerleader/zombie slayer game was a collaboration between James Gunn and Suda 51. During its release in 2012, Lollipop Chainsaw saw a cult like status. Over the years the game has retained its fans. That’s why Dragami Games is working on an updated remake in order to give us a next-gen experience.
We can’t wait to see the full game in action, but for now the developers gave us a peek at the upcoming rad remake.
In the photo, we get a side-by-side of its zombie-slaying cheerleader, Juliette Starling. On the left, we can see the original and on the right the updated version. It appears that not a lot is changing. Juliette appears to be a lot paler now and doesn’t seem to be wearing as much makeup as before. She also has a slight update in her texture.
This is only a sneak peek of what’s to come. So, we will be sure to keep you updated on any and all updates that come our way.
How many of you played the original Lollipop Chainsaw? Let us know in the comments section.
