There Will Apparently Be a ‘Silent Hill’ Pachinko Game

Published

on

Silent Hill, once the crowning jewel of the survival horror genre, boasting grotesque and terrifying enemies and telling the darkest and most sinister of stories will now be a Pachinko game.

I really wish I was making this up. I really do, you guys. You have no idea how much I feel burned by this.

Yes, the frightfully amazing Silent Hills game that was shown off in the PT demo – a demo that scared the crap outta me more than any game has in recent history despite it being only a demo – brought to you by two masters of telling twisted tales, Guillermo Del Toro and Hideo Kojima, has been scrapped with no apologies, but here’s a whole bunch of mini games with the Silent Hill name slapped on it to make a quick buck. That’s good enough, right? Also, because fuck you.

The video runs a little over seven minutes long and doesn’t seem to show much in terms of story, although I did notice the man running away from Pyramid Head (or Red Pyramid) is James Sunderland from Silent Hill 2. I highly doubt this is a continuation of his story or a reboot of SH2, but rather just stuffing the most notable characters from the series in there. It’s unlikely that we will ever see a console version of this, but a mobile version… well, seems like Konami wants to head in that direction…

As of right now, the game is only slated to come out in Japan in October, so no word as to if we will get it here in the states… yet. And hopefully will never see this brutal and shameful cash-in of the series either.

You know, even at it’s most silliest, SH still never reached this low. Not even with SH2‘s dog ending.

‘Stranger Things’ VR Trailer Puts the Upside Down in Your Living Room

Published

on

Stranger

Stranger Things is getting very real this year. It appears that the experience will go virtual and bring the world of Mind Flayers and all kinds of other Upside Down creatures into your very own living room. Good luck keeping the carpet clean.

The folks at Tender Claws are bringing the game to Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro. All in and around the Fall of 2023.

Perhaps best of all we are going to be playing as Vecna while trapped in the Upside Down and beyond. The entire thing looks pretty dang cool over all and certainly has the aesthetic to drag you into this world.

The description for Stranger Things VR goes like this:

Play as Vecna and head to the Upside Down in Stranger Things VR. Check out the trailer to see some of the creepy areas and creatures as you invade people’s minds, harness telekinetic powers, and take revenge against Hawkins, Eleven and crew.

Silent Hill: Ascension

As horror fans, we’re all brimming with anticipation for the Silent Hill 2 remake. However, let’s shift our focus to another intriguing venture — the collaborative project from Behaviour Interactive, Bad Robot Games, Genvid, and DJ2 Entertainment: Silent Hill: Ascension.

Our wait for information is over as Genvid Entertainment and Konami Digital Entertainment have just released fresh details and a chilling trailer for this interactive streaming series, scheduled to launch later this year.

Silent Hill: Ascension thrusts us into the horrifying realities of multiple main characters located worldwide. Their lives become twisted nightmares as they’re besieged by monstrous beings from the Silent Hill universe. The insidious creatures lurk in the shadows, poised to engulf people, their offspring, and entire towns. Drawn into the gloom by recent murder mysteries and deeply buried guilt and fears, the stakes are unimaginably high.

An interesting facet of Silent Hill: Ascension is the power it grants its audience. The series’ conclusion isn’t pre-determined, not even by its creators. Instead, the fate of the characters lies in the hands of millions of viewers.

The series boasts an extensive cast of detailed new characters, as well as fresh monsters and locations within the Silent Hill universe. It leverages Genvid’s real-time interactive system, enabling a vast audience to guide characters’ survival and influence their destinies.

Jacob Navok, CEO of Genvid Entertainment, promises a captivating, immersive experience for audiences with Silent Hill: Ascension. Expect striking visuals, real-time community-driven events, and a deep exploration of the psychological horror that has endeared the Silent Hill series to fans worldwide.

“By participating in Silent Hill: Ascension,” he says, “you will leave your legacy in the canon of Silent Hill. We’re offering fans the unique chance to become part of the story themselves in collaboration with Konami Digital Entertainment, Bad Robot Games, and Behaviour Interactive.”
