What is probably the most highly anticipated video game adaptation ever, Return to Silent Hill, has finally dropped the official trailer for the film. Silent Hill is in an interesting spot at the moment. On one hand, Silent Hill has one of the most complex and interesting story lines of any horror game to date. However, previous attempts at translating those stories into film have been less than successful.
The IP is coming off a huge recent success of the redone version of Silent Hill 2, and people are clamoring for more. Luckily, Return to Silent Hill is also based on the franchise’s second entry. We just have to hope that it will follow the lore a bit better than the first Silent Hill adaptation.
Luckily, the trailer for Return to Silent Hill looks amazing. It has all the doom and gloom of the game and seems to use its effects wisely. This is the perfect scenario for any movie adaptation. The story doesn’t require much change, and it has a deeply loyal fanbase.
