‘Stranger Things’ Shares Practical Make Up FX Magic That Created Vecna

Some Great Practical Effects

by Trey Hilburn III

The fourth season of Strange Things was great. It went big and turned the small town caper into a globetrotting ordeal that maxed out the fun. It has been a bit of a bummer waiting till July 1, so that we can see the finale of the season. We have been receiving little bits of awesome behind the scenes content here and there though that have made the waiting process a little easier though. For example, this magical transformation of actor Jamie Cambell Bower into the big bad villain Vecna.

The synopsis for Stranger Things 4 goes like this:

It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.

The whole FX transformation is proof that practical FX still rule and that they really count when creating a tried and true villain. We can’t wait to see what happens next in the world of Stranger Things.
