The Gary Dauberman directed and written Salem’s Lot adaptation isn’t far off. The Stephen King tale of a a town overtaken by vampires is an all time classic from the writer. It’s major adaptation was a made for tv miniseries. So, this remake is one that is very welcome. Luckily according to New Line Cinema we won’t have to wait long for this one to hit theaters. It is due in a year from now, Sept. 2022.
Mears is at the center of Salem’s Lot. He is the one who comes back to his hometown to discover a very different town indeed. Everyone is being turned into vampires by an ancient creature that preys on the town’s residents as they sleep.
Stephen King’s vampire tale is an all-timer, but one that wasn’t fully explored in the film that we have now. Afterall, the film we have now was a TV miniseries. A lot of the bigger gorrier bits had to be cut obviously. In fact, a lot of the book isn’t there .
Gary Dauberman is directing the reboot and is very excited about tackling the film and making it as true to life as the book as possible.
