Slot Games Based On Horror Movies

Online slots are among the most popular games to play for regular casino goers because they’re easy to jump into, have an endless number of variations and offer the potential to win life-changing jackpots.
Today, 17% of regular gamblers play slots online in the US, with this number only set to increase as slots become ever more sophisticated. Speaking of themes, horror-based slots offer some of the most entertaining gameplay options available.
If spooky, gory, and scary are what get you going, here are five of the top horror-based slots to try now:
Blood Suckers

Blood Suckers is one of the most well-known horror-based slots from NetEnt. This slot with the gothic design can be found in everybody’s favorite online casino.
The gameplay has five reels and 25 pay lines, with lots of bonus symbols to take advantage of. It also has a video slot version that works in your browser or on your mobile.
If you want to up the ante, you can also enable the “high bets” function to amplify your potential payouts.
Halloween

If you’re a fan of the Halloween franchise, you’ll find plenty of slots based around it. This popular video slot is from the 1978 movie and gives players all the thrills you would expect. Even today, Halloween remains incredibly popular, with plans recently announced for its 45 Years of Terror convention.
You’ll find symbols like pistols, masks, pumpkins and those of the main characters. Additionally, the sounds that play each time you hit a win will fully immerse you in the plot of the movie itself.
Like Blood Suckers, Halloween contains five reels but has a whopping 50 potential pay lines to exploit. Since this game was produced by Microgaming, you’ll also benefit from their higher-than-average RTP of 96%.
If you’re still wondering why this slot is so popular, you can try out the free demo version.
Vampires vs Wolves

This hit slot machine from Pragmatic Play is dedicated to the vampire theme, with spades, hearts, diamonds, wolves and castles – and of course, vampires.
Every symbol doubles as a standard and a bonus symbol. Feel free to substitute prize images for other symbols to increase your chance of winning.
The bonus feature on Vampires vs Wolves gives you free spins, which further amplifies your chances of hitting a winning combination.
Lost Vegas

Another top hit from Microgaming, Lost Vegas is a creepy slot machine based around the idea of a land-based Vegas casino infested by zombies.
In a take on the Zombies vs Survivors game, this tried-and-tested formula works perfectly with a 5 x 3-reel structure.
Just hit three scatter symbols to activate the Free Spins feature. Additionally, the Blackout bonus will randomly trigger and pay out cash prizes for all high symbols. Another surprise is the Zombie Fist of Cash that has a chance of activating with every spin.
Transylvania

Head to the mystical land of Transylvania for a gripping video slot that will get your adrenaline pumping.
This is one of the most engaging slots game available in the horror-themed genre, with werewolves, abandoned castles and Dracula himself included in the various bonus rounds.
The gameplay itself is also rewarding, with Transylvania paying out 12 free spins and featuring a 10x payout multiplier just for hitting three haunted houses on the reels. Additionally, if you get three spiders, you can activate the Creepy Castle Escape bonus round.
In terms of atmosphere and feel, this is one of our favorite horror-themed slot games available in online casinos.
Do horror-themed games function differently?

Horror-themed slots have been around since the advent of online casinos because of a devoted following of horror franchise fans.
While some of the descriptions of horror-themed slots can make the game sound complex, the actual gameplay is much the same as any other slot. So, if you have prior experience, there’s no reason why you cannot jump into these slots and instantly know what you’re doing.
There are still the bonus rounds, wilds, scatters and ordinary symbols you’ll come across with other games. With a quick read of the instructions, you can familiarize yourself with each game’s bonus round in advance so that you are not caught off-guard when you strike the right combination on the reels.
The only real difference is the theme designed to enhance your experience as you play.

Horror-themed games have a dedicated following of slots players who love everything that creaks and groans during the Witching Hour.
If the idea of zombies, ghosts and ghouls excites you, these are just some of the horror-based slot games for you to try.
