‘Scream’ is Slashing Its Way Back to Theater Screens this Halloween

Scream, New Horror Movies on Tubi

This October is proving to be a super-powered one. This October is all about making up for last year’s crappiness. Recently, we announced that Scream is getting a really awesome 4K UHD steelbook release on Oct. 19. So, in order to make this October just a little be more Scream-centric, we are also seeing Wes Craven’s original meta-master slasher, Scream return to the big screen.

I also have a strange feeling that we might also see a teaser of the fifth Scream film. It would only make sense. A 4K disc and Scream back in theaters? Seems like the 25th anniversary is a perfect time to hit us all with a Scream trailer.

Tickets for this special event are now on sale. Find screening locations near you and purchase your tickets by CLICKING HERE.

The original Scream changed the way audiences thought about horror movies. Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson entirely shook-up the genre with such ferocity that it never was the same again. Arguably Scream 2 is my favorite of the films, but Scream will always hold that slice of fried gold spot for creating a theater experience like no other.

It will be awesome for a whole new generation to be able to experience it on the big screen.

Meanwhile, we are all still anxiously waiting for the fifth Scream film which is due out Jan. 14 2022.

‘Hellraiser’ Receives a Big R-rating for “Graphic Nudity” and “Strong Bloody Violence” Over at Hulu

Hellraiser

David Bruckner warped our minds with his beautiful nightmare titled The Night House. The film was an ode to Clive Barker without saying it was an ode to Clive Barker. The film was masterful. If you haven’t watched it yet, do yourself a huge favor and give it a watch. The reason we bring up Bruckner is because his mind is working to bring us Hellraiser over at Hulu.

A while back we shared the good news that Jamie Clayton was going to be our new Hellpriest, which we are dying to see in action. Along with the Hellpriest are her disciples the cenobites.

Hellraiser

Along with the great casting and great director, we also have Super Dark Times‘ writers Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski. Pssst. If you haven’t seen Super Dark Times, please go and watch it as well.

Today, Hulu’s Hellraiser received its official R-rating for “Strong bloody horror violence and gore, language throughout, some sexual content, and brief graphic nudity.” As is tradition! We wouldn’t have it any other way.

Clive Barker is onboard as a producer for a version of Hellraiser that is said to be a loyal and evolved reimagining of the original goopy and gory 1987 Hellraiser.

We aren’t entirely sure what that means, but you know what? With the team members listed above all being involved, we are very okay with whatever the finished product is. We can’t wait to see this thing.

We don’t have a release date on Bruckner’s Hellraiser but we will be sure to keep you updated. Stay tuned!

‘The Boy’ May End Up Being a Trilogy According to the Director

Published

Boy

2016’s The Boy was an off-the-wall experience. One that went big without a care for anything that the audience may have thought was absurd. While the film didn’t bloom or find a home at the box office, it did manage to find a home on digital and home video.

The 2020 sequel Brahms: The Boy II went in a much different direction than the first. Since the first film was built around a twist ending, it was difficult to see how a proper narrative could be made the second time around. But, director Willliam Brent Bell managed to put something together that was fun and unexpected.

While speaking with Comicbook.com, about the future of The Boy films director Willliam Brent Bell said “I think so. I think when we made the first movie, the assumption was if we continued the story, it would’ve been the story of Brahms, the guy in the walls, like a slasher killer. And then, as time went on and the producers saw how the doll had become in the zeitgeist with Kushner in particular, and so it was like, ‘Okay, we’ll focus on that.’ But in a way, I feel like a movie, it’s either you have a great standalone film or you probably need a trilogy to really round out a character. And so the second film in that series focused on the doll, and I think a third film would 100% focus on Brahms, the guy.”

So, it sounds like we may get a third film for a full Brahms trilogy. If that is the case we are most likely looking at Bell once again following his current film, Orphan: First Kill. Bell sounds very interested in returning to The Boy films. We will just have to wait and see.

Would you be excited about a third film in the Brahms run of films? Do you think a third The Boy would be a blast?

Actor, Dane DiLegro Became the Predator in ‘Prey’ Now He Wants to Play Jason Voorhees

Published

DiLegro

Dane DiLegro recently played the hunter in Prey. Buff DiLegro looked fantastic as the gigantic, menacing Predator. He has recently taken on other big monster roles in American Horror Stories and The Walking Dead. Now, DiLegro has his sights set on one of the most iconic formidable monsters of all time.

While chatting with Megan Navarro at Bloody Disgusting, DiLegro discussed his dream roles. Amazingly, one of those dream roles was to play the Predator! So, one down. Next up, DiLegro aims for his other dream role, Jason Voorhees.

“When I moved to Los Angeles when I was hooked on only doing monsters, it was being a Predator and being Jason Voorhees. Jason Voorhees ties back even further into my childhood. I was him about four times for Halloween. That character is fascinating to me because he’s a big supernatural child, and his movements are minimalist and effective. I mean, just tilting your head a centimeter to the right tells a completely different story of this character, and being granted the challenge to create and tell a story through Jason’s eyes to the audience, non-verbally, would be so much fun. He’s huge. He’s menacing. He doesn’t give a shit. He wants to avenge his mom.

As Friday the 13th fans we are still out here suffocating with no chance of a legal settlement or film in sight. The legal battles are still waging strong and we are still quite a ways away from any kind of release, but we remain hopeful.

What would you think about DiLegro playing Jason Voorhees? Think he would make a good man behind the mask?

Prey is now streaming on Hulu. Don’t miss it.

Be sure to check out Megan Navarro’s full interview with DiLegro.
