Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin (Paramount)

The Paranormal Activity franchise is going on the road—into Amish country this time around. The film titled Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin will be available streaming-only at Paramount+ on October 29. Happy Halloween!

We have the trailer below and from what we can tell this film is going to be one hell of a ride! The plot has been as secretive as the latest Scream entry, so you will have to speculate what exactly is going on, but the trailer is not sparse in helping you decide.

Directed by Willian Eubank, and starring Roland Buck III, Jill Andre, and Emily Bader, this entry harkens back to what made the original so terrifying: found footage. Well, sort of. This time around Margot, a budding filmmaker, is going back to her apparent roots deep in the heart of Amish country to film a documentary about life on a farm.

As seen in the trailer, strange things start to happen beginning with a potato peeler and they just get worse from there.

All of the heavy-hitters behind-the-scenes of the franchise are back including producers Jason Blum, and Oren Peli. And writer Christopher Landon (Paranormal Activity 2, 3, 4, and The Marked Ones) has returned to write the story.

He Will Survive: ‘Chucky’ Season 3: Part 2 Trailer Drops a Bomb

Published

on

It’s official, Chucky’s old, but he’s not down for the count. In the new trailer for Chucky Season 3: Part 2, it seems that our ole’ friend till the end is finally on his deathbed with nothing left to do but go back from whence he came. But hold on, don’t film the sunset scene yet because there might be just a little more power in them batteries.

Season three was cut short last year thanks to the writer’s and actor’s strike. but SyFy just released the new trailer for its hit horror series and it ends with a blast. Literally, a blast!

Starting on April 10, our killer in the rainbow onesie is Chucking back and there is no shortage of blood! Here’s a little taste of the plot according to SyFy:

“…Old Chucky seems to find a new zest for… death. Even though he’s weaker than he’s been in a very long time, Chucky declares that he’s somehow ‘going for the nukes!’ Which shouldn’t be too hard, given that he’s infiltrated The White House, but still, a tall order even for someone with Chucky’s body count.”

The series has been a hit for the cable channel pulling in great ratings and reviews, a huge win for director and creator Don Mancini. His last motion picture in the franchise, Cult of Chucky, was released seven years ago. But he can give more to fans by using the small screen medium because of a smaller budget. That doesn’t mean the series is cheap looking, in fact, it might look a little better than some of the proper franchise films.

So get ready for the second half of Chucky’s third season, which premieres on USA and the SyFy Channel starting April 10.

‘The Skinwalkers: American Werewolves 2’ Explores Shapeshifting [Trailer]

Published

on

Even if you don’t believe in this kind of stuff, the makers of these documentaries weave such interesting real-life stories and convincing testimonials into their movies that you have to wonder what’s going on?

The Skinwalkers: American Werewolves 2 is Small Town Monster’s latest film. It takes the shape-shifting lore beyond that of the cursed canid and places it into the Native American community where legends of shape-shifters and other cryptids go back for centuries.

American Werewolves 2 is a follow-up to Seth Breedlove and his team’s 2022 film American Werewolves and will be available on Cable VOD and Digital HD on March 15 with a simultaneous Blu-ray/DVD drop on the same day.

The Skinwalkers

“The merging of various canid legends and lore from different cultures is something that has always fascinated me. This time, we explore the shape-shifting aspect of that lore and how it stands apart while also involving various aspects of that same topic. To properly tell the story of the Skinwalker, we turned to Indigenous people from the state of New Mexico and asked them to simply tell us their own experiences and beliefs,” shared Seth Breedlove (CEO and Founder of Small Town Monsters).

Small Town Monsters is a production company that has made several documentaries on the subject of cryptids and monstrous urban legends. From UFOs to Bigfoot to The Mothman, the team has a long list of features about the supernatural.

At its core, The Skinwalkers: American Werewolves 2 allows those who watch to form their own opinions on the skinwalker phenomenon via stories and opinions of those closest to the subject itself.  Take a look at the trailer and let us know what you think in the comments.

That New A24 Supernatural Doc Everyone’s Talking About is Sus

Published

on

Christie Bosch on TikTok got the internet buzzing with her post about the new A24 true crime documentary The Navidson Record. The story involves creepy metaphysics, where a photographer named Will Navidson moves into a house that is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside.

“I have never been this disturbed by a documentary and I would be careful watching it if you have any mental health issues,” Christie says in her post. She continues by stating that Navisdon brings in experts to investigate the house, documenting everything. “The difference in dimensions is only a few inches at first, but as time passes, the house expands and the men even start finding doorways that weren’t there before.”

“I don’t want to spoil what happens but I will say that when they decide to open these doors, they find spaces that defy logic and connect with something that is deeply unsettling. The ending of this film has inspired countless essays and much debate.”

@everydaychristie People always ask “where do i watch this?” 😉 #fyp #documentary #documentaries #movies #mustwatch #creepy #houseofleaves #greenscreenvideo ♬ original sound – Christie Bosch

This documentary sounds fantastic, so where can you watch it? Well, you can’t. It’s fake, at least in Christie’s context. But you can read the book.

Christie posted this mock review on February 15. And since then it’s disappointed fans about over a million times. It’s actually the story from the very popular real-life book titled House of Leaves written by Mark Z. Danielewski in 2000.

The book is about as meta as you can get with a story inside a story. Some spoilers ahead: A man finds a manuscript written by another man named Zampanò who is writing about a man named Will Navidson who is documenting his strange house via film. Whether the things that are happening in the house are real, or even if the documentary is real, is the question. It’s complicated, but that’s what makes Christie’s video such a deep cut.

After the onslaught of questions from her followers about where to watch this incredible documentary, Christie’s boyfriend filmed a response:

It’s the ultimate “if you know, you know prank,” and Christie fooled a lot of people who didn’t know. She had to clarify her intentions in a since-deleted follow-up response.

“A lot of you are asking where to watch this, so I will explain,” she says. “I didn’t think this would get this many views because it’s so niche. First of all, you can’t watch this anywhere. I’m really sorry. Please forgive me.”

Many eager viewers ran to YouTube and found that there is indeed a documentary titled The Navidson Record but it’s not from A24.

“If you spent time watching that four part series on YouTube, I’m really sorry, I didn’t know that that existed. But I bet those people who made that are probably impressed with the amount of views they’re getting.”

Christie then apologizes for her little joke and makes the following statement: “I promise that in the future ones I won’t lie to you guys or fool you.”

So The Navidson Record does exist, but it doesn’t, but it does.
