There was some expectation that we would be getting a follow-up to Talk to Me from the Philippous twins (Danny and Michael) this year, especially since it was reported that a prequel had already been made. But it doesn’t appear that A24 is interesed in that. Instead the directors are finishing up a stand-alone movie for the studio called Bring Her Back (which oddly sounds like it could be a sequel to Talk to Me).

The YouTube channel Spooky Astronauts confirmed that Talk 2 Me was still in the writing process and the twins are currently editing Bring Her Back. It wrapped filming in August and there is no release date as of this writing.

So when will they get to work on a Talk to Me sequel? It’s hard to tell. When asked back in May 2024 the star of the first movie, Sophie Wilde, said she was even in the dark about it.

“I don’t know. I feel like it’s still a bit hush hush because I mean, the boys [filmmakers Danny Philippou and Michael Philippou], they’re such workaholics. I know they’re focusing on a bunch of other projects that they’re doing at the moment. So I don’t know, it’s all up in the air. But I said to them, I was like, ‘I’m gonna get actual FOMO if I’m not in this film, so can I just come on set and be like a boom operator? I will be an assistant director, I just want to be involved.’”

For now, there is no information about Bring Her Back except that its lead is Sally Hawkins (Wonka, The Shape of Water). But keep checking back to iHorror for more details as they become available.
