Netflix is becoming the home base for true crime stories, especially those of serial killers.
Their next offering is a biopic of the infamous Ed Gein, a real-life murderer who made accessories out of his victims’ skin. In fact, Psycho, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Silence of the Lambs were inspired by Gein’s notorious actions.
Ryan Murphy is producing the Netflix series titled Monster: The Ed Gein Story which will get a eight episode run starting October 3. All episodes will be available.
A new trailer has dropped, and it’s even more unsettling than the first. With images of Gein, played by Charlie Hunnam, wearing a mask and body suit made of flesh, this series is pushing the boundaries of TV-MA and that’s just the trailer.
