Brand New Cherry Flavor is headed to Netflix next month and we finally have the teaser of the series created by Nick Antosca and Lenore Zion based on the novel by Todd Grimson.

Rosa Salazar (Alita: Battle Angel) stars as Lisa Nova, an aspiring filmmaker who, according to Deadline, “embarks on a mind-altering journey — from the streets of Beverly Hills to the forests of Brazil — of supernatural revenge. Lisa is an Alice in Wonderland of sorts except the rabbit hole leads her down a hallucinatory path of sex, magic, revenge— and kittens.”

Salazar is joined by an outstanding cast including Catherine Keener (Get Out), Patrick Fischler (Happy!), Mark Acheson (Alone in the Dark), Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), and Hannah Levien (Siren).

The series will consist of eight one-hour episodes and will drop on the streaming giant on August 13, 2021.

Arkasha Stevenson who previously worked with Antosca and Zion on the SYFY series Channel Zero reportedly directed the first episode.

As a novel, Brand New Cherry Flavor has its own cult-following and it will be interesting to see how it is brought to the screen and how fans of the source material will react to the adaptation. The teaser certainly seems to set the right tone with its seedy locations and touches of glamour among the grit.
