Laney Chantal was a profound makeup and FX artist. She was one of the best parts of Face Off Season 5 and continued to evolve makeup FX for the better. Chantel passed away in Milford, Michigan according to her family. The masterful makeup artist and all-around great person was found dead from an accidental overdose at the age of 33.
Chantal worked on several awesome films as well as music videos for The Smashing Pumpkins, Marilyn Manson and more. Everyone that had the opportunity to work with her had nothing but great things to say about the 33-year-old.
Chantal attended the Cinema Makeup School in Los Angeles in 2007. From there she took to Face Off in season 5 – before removing herself from the competition leaving her in 5th place.
Chantal was a fantastic human and a brilliant artist. The horror community lost a substantial piece this week.
