A while back we reported that Keira Knightley was onboard for an upcoming Boston Strangler project. She is now being joined by Carrie Coon and more. The film that will follow the case of the Boston Strangler, is being produced by Ridley Scott.
Mark Ruskin is onboard as director for Boston Strangler with Alessandro Nivola and Chris Cooper also joining Knightley and Coon.
The synopsis for Boston Strangler goes like this:
Loretta McLaughlin, the first reporter to connect the murders and break the story of the Strangler. She and fellow reporter Jean Cole challenged the sexism of the early 1960s to report on the city’s most notorious serial killer and worked tirelessly to keep women informed. Loretta pursued the story at great personal risk and uncovered corruption that cast doubt on the true identity of the Boston Strangler.
The Boston Strangler was active in the 1960’s. The serial killer took the lives of thirteen women in the Boston area. The killer terrorized the city and made an entire city afraid to go outside. The news also assisted in making it seem that the city was in trouble as a whole, despite the serial killer having a very specific profile.
Scott Free, Lucky Chap and 20th Century Fox are on as producers.
