“IT” Set to Surpass Some of the Highest Grossing Horror Movies
As much as we all love horror movies, they are notorious for not making as much at the box office as romantic comedies or action movies. It would seem that the new adaption to IT is changing all of that. According to IndieWire, for a horror movie to be considered successful, an opening weekend of $40-50 million would be great but the totals for the opening weekend of IT blows that all away.

In its first few days, the much anticipated remake raked in a full $123 million in its final count. For a horror movie, that’s almost unheard of and the movie is joining the ranks of the highest grossing horror movies of all time. While we have to wait until the second weekend to see how that number will multiply but it could double meaning that $500 million worldwide is entirely possible.
