[Interview] Bonnie Aarons Enters A Twisted Fairy Tale In ‘EVER AFTER’

Classic fairy tales take a deadly turn in Ever After, a new horror feature from writer and director Laszlo Illes that brings together several familiar faces from across the genre.

Set to open exclusively in theaters across the United States and Canada on September 4, 2026Ever After stars Mark Sheppard (Supernatural), Bonnie Aarons (The Nun), Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes), Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th VII-X), and Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange). The film is being released domestically by Level 33 Entertainment. 

‘EVER AFTER’ (2026)

The story follows a group of friends whose bachelorette weekend at a secluded forest lodge descends into terror. They soon discover that the surrounding woods are inhabited by murderous fanatics who believe themselves to be the heroes and villains of childhood fairy tales. Little Red Riding Hood, the Big Bad Wolf, the Evil Witch, Prince Charming, and other familiar figures emerge as the group finds itself caught in a fight for survival.

Produced by Intergalactic Pictures, McClurg Productions, Harambee Grey-Sun Productions, Stag Mountain Films and Avali Productions, Ever After combines practical creature effects and large-scale set pieces with an ensemble of established genre actors. 

‘EVER AFTER’ (2026)

lles, a lifelong horror fan, described the opportunity to work with Sheppard, Aarons, Berryman, Hodder and McDowell as something he had dreamed about for years. He also praised the cast’s commitment to bringing the film’s twisted fairy-tale world to life. 

Aarons comes to Ever After with an extensive history in horror. Audiences know her for portraying Valak/The Nun in The Conjuring 2The Nun and The Nun II. Earlier in her career, she also appeared in David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive as the frightening figure encountered behind Winkie’s.
