What would you do with one wish?

A question that has been beckoned amongst numerous cultures and stories throughout human history. The ability to change the world or gain that which you most desire through supernatural means. Needless to say, it’s pretty easy even for the most well-placed wishes to go disastrously wrong, and hence why such tales have often fallen under the horror genre.

With Obsession from Focus Features, it’s an all too easy temptation. Bear (Michael Johnston) is a shy young man who desires the love of his friend Nikki (Inde Navarrette) above all else. But he just cannot bring himself to confess his feelings for fear of rejection. Then, he happens upon the seemingly benign “One Wish Willow” in a shop and buys it on a whim. All he has to do is break the charm and make his one, sole, solitary wish. Soon discovering that wishing for someone else’s love has consequences he cannot possibly prepare for.

The new horror film from Curry Barker does an interesting job of exploring these themes with a tightrope balance of horror and comedy. iHorror was fortunate enough to sit down and talk with director Curry Barker and actors Michael Johnston and Inde Navarrette to dig deeper into Obsession!
