‘Hocus Pocus 2’ Clip Goes Broom and Roomba Shopping With The Sanderson Sisters on Halloween

A Witch needs her broom. In the latest clip from the upcoming sequel to Disney’s beloved Hocus Pocus, we get a clip of the Sanderson Sisters out at Walgreens going broom shopping. Already, this sequel looks like a fun and a welcome return for the film and the sisters.

The sequel is bringing back all three original actresses to their roles as well as Doug Jones as Billy Butcherson.

The synopsis for Hocus Pocus 2 goes like this:

“It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters who were executed for practicing witchcraft, and they are looking for revenge. Now it is up to three high-school students to figure out how to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before midnight on All Hallow’s Eve.”

Hocus Pocus 2 magically arrives on Disney+ on September 30.

David Harbour Stars in ‘Violent Night’ a Gore-Packed Christmas Romp

Stranger Things David Harbour is on his way to a whole new Christmas adventure this hoiday. A new Die Hard-esque Violent Night is on the horizon and we already can’t wait to see how Harbour bring it in this violence and action-packed film. Plus, we love seeing Christmas films mix it up with violence and cheer.

David Harbour has been a new source of pure awesomeness as of late. Ever since his heartfelt, good dude vibe given off in Stranger Things, the actor has been showing up in starring roles and even a huge Marvel role that put him in Black Widow as well as the upcoming The Thunderbolts.

Violent Night also stars Beverly D’Angelo (National Lampoon’s Vacation), John Leguizamo (Spawn), Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones), Cam Gigandet (Twilight), and Brendan Fletcher (Arrow) as Krampus.

The logline for Violent Night goes like this:

Violent Night also stars Beverly D’Angelo (National Lampoon’s Vacation), John Leguizamo (Encanto), Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones), Cam Gigandet (Twilight), and Brendan Fletcher (Arrow) as Krampus.

This looks really exciting. I like that it’s really mixing it up with Die Hard and adding some extra horror-lined violence in the mix. Christmas needs more of this kind of thing. Hoping it does well so we end up with a trilogy or something in that vein.

Expect Violent Night in theaters on December 2.

Grimcutty Trailer Brings A Murderous Meme To Life This Halloween

One thing that stood out as I watched this new trailer for the Hulu movie Grimcutty was that it’s a story I haven’t seen a million times before. Sure, it’s not the first of its kind… but it does feel like a unique enough character that could spawn off into a larger franchise pending the audience reception. I guess what I’m saying is… this feels promising!

Directed and written by John William Ross (The Birch), Grimcutty follows a suburban teen girl (newcomer Sara Wolfkind) and her little brother (Callan Farris) who must stop a terrifying internet meme brought to life by the hysteria of their parents, played by Usman Ally and Shannyn Sossamon.

Grimcutty will debut on October 10th as part of Hulu’s annual Huluween celebration.

John William Ross previously created the short horror film “Gregory,” which premiered on Hulu in 2020 in the first season of 20th Digital’s “Bite Size Halloween.” “Grimcutty” is a successor both in the aesthetic of the two titular creatures and in themes of mass hysteria, technology, and social dynamics.

“Grimcutty” was developed by 20th Digital Studio with David Worthen Brooks, Arbi Pedrossian, and Jenna Cavelle serving as executive producers. Production services were carried out by producers Dawn Fanning Moore and David Moore through their production company Capture.

Season three of “Bite Size Halloween” is available on Hulu on October 1, 2022 with 20 new horror and sci-fi shorts from emerging filmmakers. Another feature, “Matriarch,” from UK writer/director Ben Steiner, will premiere on October 21. Hulu previously announced that the nine-film slate with 20th Digital will include the upcoming “Clock” from Alexis Jacknow, and “Appendage” from Anna Zlokovic, among others.

Demi Moore Starts Filming In The Secretive Horror Film ‘The Substance’

Demi Moore started filming scenes for The Substance yesterday in the South of France. The film seems shrouded in mystery as much of the plot details are still under wraps.

Coralie Fargeat is directing the feature film which stars Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley. Deadline’s article on the production reminds us,

“Details about The Substance are being kept under wraps but is said to be Fargeat’s explosive feminist take on body horror.”

Horror fans will recognize Fargeat’s work from the 2017 film Revenge which was a big hit with many horror fans. If you have not seen Revenge, we recommend it. 😈

One of the questions we have is who will be replacing Ray Liotta in the film. As of writing this, IMDB still shows Liotta as a cast member in the upcoming horror film. Unfortunately, Ray Liotta passed away on May 26th of this year.

Seeing Demi Moore on set yesterday was a great sign that the production is back on track. The Daily Mail shared these photos of Moore on the set of The Substance.

The Substance is being filmed for Universal Pictures and Working Title Films. Coralie Fargeat will also be a Producer on the film alongside Working Title partners Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan.
