‘Evil West’ Combines Gore, Horror and a Flat-Out Trippy Western

Published

on

West

Flying Wild Hog and Focus Entertainment have been quietly working on a game that horror fans are going to love. Best yet, fans of westerns are going to be really into it as well. Evil West bends the two genres into each other by filling the old west with a hell of a lot of monsters and vampires. In order to quell the bloodsuckers it falls into the hands of vampire hunters Jesse Rentier, Edgar Gravenor and Emilia Blackwell. The trio make up a team that are a substantial force to deal with.

All of the RPG elements are perhaps one of the games best looking features. Perks are upgradable, and the weapon upgrade system is looking really, really cool. In addition, these RPG elements don’t appear to have been added just to have something to tack on. They are seemingly very thought out and look well executed.

The synopsis for Evil West goes like this:

A dark menace consumes the American frontier. As one of the last agents in a top-secret vampire-hunting institute, you are the final line between humanity and a deep-rooted terror that now emerges from the shadows. Rise up to become a Wild West Superhero, eradicate the vampire threat, and save the United States!

The finished product is looking a lot like Red Dead Redemption combined with God of War. Plus, the design of the world, wardrobe and monsters are all incredibly detailed and rad. I’m getting a feeling that Evil West will end up being a huge sleeper hit this September.

Evil West arrives September 20 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

We will be sure to let you know more about it when we do. Plus, we will have a spoiler free review up closer to release date.

Johnny Depp Plays a Creepy Adventurer in Sea of Dawn

Depp

Johnny Depp is great at bringing a little bit of comedy to all of his roles no matter how creepy or dramatic the subject matter. I think that comes from working with Tim Burton on so many projects. One of his more recent characters was playing a blind, Irish former Swashbuckler in Changyou’s Sea of Dawn.

The massively multiplayer online role-playing game featured a short movie that had been put together in order to entice players to head out into the ocean in order to have their own adventures swashbuckling at sea. It doesn’t hurt that Depp is no stranger to playing an iconic Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean.

The short movie features Depp talking to a debt collector about all of his adventures at sea, which ended with him finding all sorts of treasures. He eventually talks the collector into tossing the collecting aside and instead heads out to sea to find his own destiny. Of course, it was all Depp’s con-man plan in order to take the heat off of himself. This was another big trait that Jack Sparrow had as well.

Johnny Depp is indeed great at playing this sort of character. To be honest, the whole thing made us miss Jack Sparrow.

‘Terminator Survival Project’ Trailer Gives Us First Look at a T-800 Filled, Open-World

Published

Survival

Yesterday, Nacon gave us a look at, the very cool looking, RoboCop: Rogue City and a brand new Terminator game. Neither game looked to disappoint. Terminator Survival Project is the first open-world experience. Plus, it is going to dig into a Rust sort of survival format. So, most likely you will need to drink and eat in order to survive.

The trailer for Terminator Survival Project didn’t give much away. It was primarily a cinematic trailer. It featured a big scary T-800 out looking to terminate someone. If you look closely you can see Sarah Connor’s sunglasses on the floor surrounded by spent bullet casings. If you listen carefully you can hear someone with panicked breath in the room right before the Terminator slides open the door.

Terminator Survival Project takes place between Judgement Day and John Connor’s transition to the savior of mankind. In the game you will have to survive a nuclear waste saturated world along with all the killer machines of Skynet running amok.

It is interesting to include Sarah Connor’s sunglasses. It almost guarantees that she will be in this one. How cool would it be to play as her post judgement day?

There still isn’t a release date for Terminator Survival Project. Unlike, Nacon’s RoboCop: Rogue City which gave us a full gameplay trailer and a release date. We will keep you updated on all upcoming Terminator details.
