What we publish

Breaking genre news, trailer coverage, film and series reviews, interviews with filmmakers and cast, festival and event reporting, retrospectives, and coverage of horror collectibles and books.

How we source

We attribute information to where we found it. When another outlet breaks a story, we say so and link to them — a scoop belongs to the publication that did the work. When information comes from a studio, publicist, or press release, we identify it as such. We do not present a press release as independent reporting.

What we verify

Casting, release dates, and production news are checked against a primary source — a studio announcement, an official social account, or direct confirmation — before we state them as fact. When we cannot confirm something and still think it is worth covering, we say plainly that it is a rumor, and we name where it originated.

Headlines

Our headlines describe what the article actually contains. We do not use questions to imply facts we have not established, and we do not manufacture a controversy in a headline that the article then walks back.

Spoilers

Reviews and news pieces flag significant spoilers before they appear. Trailer breakdowns and set reports treat unreleased plot detail as something readers should be able to opt into.

Independence
