We know the judges. We know the theme. Now we know who has to survive it.

The Boulet Brothers have revealed the cast of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula Season 7 in a new Meet Our Monsters cast reveal video. The season premieres October 27 on Shudder and AMC+.

Until now, Season 7 had been all setup. When the premiere date was announced in September, the press materials described the new competitors only as “raw, hungry artists who were completely unprepared for what was waiting for them.” This video is the first time we get names.

The monsters

Season 7 introduces 12 monsters:

  • Annie Agurl
  • Areal Haunting
  • DVVSK
  • Felony Dodger
  • Inkubus
  • Koochie Koochie Ku
  • Krustyna Clown
  • Purus
  • Samuel Bendix
  • Satanna
  • Scythe
  • Vanda LaRose

There are a couple of familiar names in that group. Felony Dodger and Satanna return to the competition alongside a lineup heavy on new blood.

The Meet Our Monsters video doesn’t just line them up and send them home. This year’s reveal drops the cast into a grim institutional horror setup and lets them start turning on one another before the competition has technically begun.

It is appropriately messy.

What they’re walking into

Season 7 marks Dragula’s 10th anniversary. The series first launched as an independent project on Halloween 2016, and this season is built around the grimy VHS horror of the 1980s and ’90s, including cinematic sequences inspired by genre films from that era.

That’s a very specific kind of nightmare to dress for. Anybody who grew up renting horror from the bottom shelf knows the aesthetic: tracking lines, practical gore and a box cover that promised more than the movie delivered. Dragula has never had a problem delivering.

The guest judge list is stacked with genre names. Rose McGowan, Doug Jones, David Dastmalchian, Harvey Guillén and Rachel True are on it. So are Troma’s Lloyd Kaufman, Terrifier’s Lauren LaVera and special effects artist Howard Berger. Former winners Landon Cider, Dahli and Asia Consent return to judge as well.

The Boulet Brothers said they wanted the anniversary season to “celebrate everything that has always made Dragula dangerous and different while pushing the series into its next era.”

If the theme is the haunted house, the cast reveal is the first look at who’s being sent inside.

The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula Season 7 premieres Tuesday, October 27, on Shudder and AMC+.
