Dexter Morgan has spent decades managing a double life. Season 2 of Dexter: Resurrection adds two more killers and a mid-life crisis to the calendar.
Paramount+ has released the first trailer for the new season, as Bloody Disgusting reported on October 1. Michael C. Hall returns as Dexter, and the season premieres October 30, 2026, on Paramount+ Premium.
Two killers and a mid-life crisis

The setup is simple and a little nasty. According to Paramount, Dexter is caught between two killers.
One has decades of notoriety and a lifetime of kills behind him. The other is a young newcomer terrorizing New York in a way no one has seen before.
That’s a smart pairing for a character who is himself a veteran. Dexter is stuck between the old guard and the next generation, and neither one is going to make his life easier.
Then there’s the third problem. Paramount’s official description says Dexter is also facing a new and unexpected enemy: a mid-life crisis.
It’s a funny line. It also fits. A man who has spent most of his life hiding who he is from everyone around him is finally running into the one thing he can’t outrun.
Paramount isn’t keeping the killers completely secret. Brian Cox plays the New York Ripper, a notorious killer whose crimes stretch back decades. Dan Stevens is the Five Borough Killer, a new threat terrorizing New York with phone calls promising the deaths of innocent people.
That puts Dexter squarely between the city’s murderous past and its newest problem.
Harrison’s still on his own path

Jack Alcott returns as Harrison, who is continuing his own pursuit of justice. Paramount describes the new season as taking father and son into their darkest chapter yet.
Whatever Harrison’s version of justice looks like this time, it’s running alongside Dexter’s. History says those two paths don’t stay separate for long.
Who’s back and who’s new

Hall and Alcott are joined by returning cast members Uma Thurman, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, Desmond Harrington and James Remar.
Dan Stevens, Bokeem Woodbine, Nona Parker Johnson and Brian Cox join the series. Krysten Ritter returns as a guest star, reprising her Season 1 role as Mia LaPierre, aka Lady Vengeance. Gabriel Luna is new this season as Ray Ballard, the Sleepy-Eyed Stranger.
Clyde Phillips returns as showrunner and executive producer.
Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 premieres October 30 on Paramount+ Premium.
