Prime Video put out the official trailer for Mike Flanagan’s Carrie on Wednesday, and this one is a real trailer rather than a mood piece. The teaser that turned up around San Diego Comic-Con in July ran about a minute and mostly handed us images. The new cut runs closer to two minutes and lets people talk, which turns out to be the whole difference. (The full series has since arrived; here is our reaction to watching it.)
What the New Trailer Actually Gives Us

The shower scene is the headline. The July teaser referenced the locker room. This one plays it. “Why am I bleeding?” Carrie asks, and the answer is a chant. “Plug it up! Plug it up!” The taunt that comes out of it follows her through the rest of the trailer. “More like Carrie Red. Bloody Carrie Red.”
What the trailer does not do is get to prom night. No crown, no dialogue from that gym at all. The blood everyone is talking about here is shower blood, and the marketing is still keeping its most famous image on a short leash.
Eight Episodes of the Year, Not the Night

That restraint tracks with the format. Eight episodes buys Flanagan room, and the trailer suggests he is spending it on the school year rather than the last twenty minutes of it. The bullying gets filmed and shared, the humiliation travels, and the investigative framing from Stephen King’s 1974 novel appears to be doing structural work instead of sitting in the margins. Flanagan is showrunner and writer and directs four of the eight episodes. King is an executive producer.
Summer H. Howell stars as Carrie White, with Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle, and Siena Agudong as Sue Snell.
Carrie premieres October 7, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video, with all eight episodes dropping at once.
