An Artist’s Tribute to ‘Bloodborne’: A Messengers PS4 Stand

Published

on

Bloodborne

There are numerous options of PlayStation 4 stands that players will find for their “Bloodborne machines”. Most of these stands are sleek, jet black, and occasionally hold your games neatly off to the side. Do these stands actually “stand” out though? Do they present themselves in a way that when you gaze upon them directly, they churn your blood? A stand that has a dual purpose, maybe like your favorite hunter’s weapon?

Do these assembly line models deliver a message to you and your guests – a message that, when you stare at the ghastly faces underneath the console, you can almost hear the soulless whispers call out as you sit down to play? A voice beckons; “welcome home, good hunter”.

While that is certainly a theatrical introduction for an art piece story, I don’t believe this piece deserves anything less.

With the addition of Bloodborne to the free titles in PlayStation Plus, those who never took the chance to join the hunt can can seek out to venture through the terrors of Yahrnam.

In the midst of From Software’s free release of the merciless Lovecraftian heavy-hitter,  artist Michael Ildmirkin has debuted the beginning of a series of Bloodborne inspired projects… if you haven’t already guessed, it’s a stand for the PlayStation 4.

Ildmirkin recently uploaded the project’s design details and components to his Instagram and his own Eject Studio’s Facebook page. The stand will feature the game’s own “messengers” rising from the base of the bath chalice found in the “Hunter’s Dream” level of Bloodborne.

Held above the messengers will be an unraveled scroll used as the surface that will support the PlayStation 4; additionally, runes featured from the game will be inscribed into the scroll to add texture.

Ildmirkin has not disclosed what material he or any of the others on the project will be using to make the stand–it may not be known until they first go through some prototypes.

Fans of the artist (now including myself) who saw the design obviously want to know one important question: will Ildmirkin and co. ever sell this or any of their other Bloodborne projects?

Concerning the PlayStation 4 stand in particular, the artist stated in one of his Facebook comments that they are planning to try and sell the stand (although creative property and copyright issues may prove this to be a little difficult).

Currently, a finish date has not been disclosed. Even if we never get to own this work of art, this piece alone warrants an eye to be kept out for Ildmirkin and Eject Studios on their Bloodborne themed endeavors!

Gamers have been waiting for Hideo Kojima to give us something in the form of a horror game ever since PT’s demo scared the heck out of all of us when it was released on PS4. Well, The Game Awards didn’t disappoint by bringing Hideo Kojima’s latest project OD out to tease. While the trailer didn’t focus on any gameplay at all, it did give us some motion capture of Udo Kier Sophia Ellis, and Hunter Schafer.

The short trailer focuses on close-ups of the actors; each of whom is reciting a haunting lines from a memorable text. Following the little video, Kojima came out on stage to share his excitement about the game. That wasn’t all though!

Kojima then brings out Jordan Peele, to announce that the game is in partnership with the director. The latest horror game is titled OD and is already on big most anticipated lists.

Kojima

Kojima announces that this is of course a game but is also a new form of media altogether. He remains cryptic about the game but makes sure to give us all a lot to take in and be excited about.

Peele is on board to put gamers into the shoes of characters that will feel familiar to the sort of experiences that he brings to his films.

There is no word on when OD will see a release date but we are very excited and will be sure to let you know more when we receive more info.

Arkane Studios and Marvel Reveal Rad Trailer for Blade

Published

on

Kojima

One of the biggest and most exciting moments from last night’s Game Awards was the unveiling of Arcane’s latest game, Blade! That’s right, y’all. Marvel is getting together with Arkane Studios in order to tell the tale of the Daywalker.

Blade

Arkane has been responsible for some of our favorite games over the last few years. They are responsible for Deathloop and Dishonored just to name a couple. So, the idea of a Blade game is very exciting. Mainly because we have seen what Arkane does with their special powers and perks in game. So, we already can’t wait to see the powers they unleash with Blade.

Not much is known at the moment other than the game will be a third-person experience that takes place in Paris.

The synopsis for Blade goes like this:

In Marvel’s Blade, Eric Brooks is the legendary Daywalker, half-man, half-vampire torn between the warm society of the living and the rushing power of the undead. From Bethesda and Arkane Lyon, the studio that brought you Dishonored and “DEATHLOOP”, Marvel’s Blade is a mature, single-player, third-person game set in the heart of Paris, now in development in collaboration with Marvel Games.

We are already dying to see what Arkane and Bethesda does with Blade. It will undoubtedly be a huge and memorable experience. Marvel has been doing a great job of carefully brining their games to life. If you haven’t played Guardians of the Galaxy, please do. It is a singular experience that goes beyond the game films and gives us an all-new experience in the Guardians tales. We are sure that Arkane will give us another amazing Marvel chapter when Blade is released.

There isn’t any word on when Blade is going to be released. But, we will be sure to keep you updated as soon as we hear more.

‘Dead by Daylight’ Video Shows Off Chucky and His Killer Moves in Action

Published

on

Chucky

Chucky keeps finding a way to return to the zeitgeist of pop culture. From his return to a series on SYFY to his return as a recent character in the popular horror game, Dead by Daylight. This game has seen a ton of horror icons appear in its ranks from Ghostface all the way to Michael Myers. Each of them comes with their own set of perks and moves. Plus, each of them is equally as fun and challenging to play with.

Chucky’s big perk is his ability to change into Hidey-Ho Mode. In this mode, he is undetectable by other players. He is also able to throw other players off by giving off fake prints on the map. Basically, Chucky’s moves are all built around trickery and of course murder.

The synopsis for Dead by Daylight breaks down like this:

Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer action/horror game where one player takes on the role of a brutal Killer and the other four play as Survivors. As a Killer your goal is to sacrifice as many Survivors as possible. As Survivors your goal is to work together to evade, escape, and most importantly – stay alive.

You can find Chucky in Dead by Daylight beginning, November 28 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
