Paranormal investigator and Annabelle doll caregiver died suddenly on Sunday.

Dan Rivera was doing the Devils on the Run Tour, where he kept charge of the infamously “possessed” Annabelle doll, the inspiration for several horror movies and the artifact curated by the late demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren.

His cause of death is still unclear.

Rivera was also a paranormal investigator on the Travel Channel’s Most Haunted Places and produced 28 Days Haunted for Netflix.

Many fearful paranormal enthusiasts were adamant against the Devils on the Run Tour, some saying the Warren’s left specific instructions to never remove the rag doll from its protective wooden cabinet.

We wrote about Annabelle back in May when the tour first started.

“Annabelle is a rag doll, specifically a Raggedy Ann doll. Her cloth body is stuffed with batting, her hair made of yarn with a stitched face sown into an unthreatening smile. The real Annabelle was confiscated in the early 70s by demonologists Ed and Lorraine after they investigated a case in which two roommates reported weird activities in their apartment after receiving the toy as a gift.”

“The tour is being sponsored by the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR). It’s scheduled to continue through the summer, stopping in states such as  Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky.”

At one point during the tour it was reported that Annabelle went missing, but that was later debunked.

People asked Rivera if the Warren’s haunted items had been blessed. He said yes, every month. Then added, “Is it 100% going to protect all of us? No, because we’re dealing with something that’s demonic,” he said. “It has the wisdom of time.”

Our condolences to Rivera’s freinds and family.
