All the Horror Coming to HBO Max in January 2022

New Year Horror

by Trey Hilburn III

HBO Max is dropping a couple of horror gems onto streaming platform to start out the new year. Among these gems is a few classics like The Exorcist and The Dark Crystal with some notable cult gems like Amityville 3-D and John Dies at the End.

One of the titles we are particularly excited about is The Faculty’s return. Robert Rodriguez’s teen take on Invasion of the Body Snatchers was a fun ride that still manages to stand out of the pack with both its ensemble of up-and-comers and its really fun take on grown ups becoming alien and trying to end your lives.

Guillermo Del Toro’s Mimic is also coming back to HBO. This time around it is joined by both Mimic 2 and 3. The series diverts a bit from Del Toro’s original take, but the sequels still remain a fun creature feature outing.

Annabelle Comes Home, The Nun and The Curse of La Llorona all make a comeback as well. These are part of James Wan’s Conjuring extended universe and each impressively explores the franchise groundwork.
