After over six years in development Alien: Earth is finally getting ready to air on Hulu. It’s been two years since production started and it’s had some starts and stops including getting through COVID and an actor’s and writer’s strike.
But today more is revealed about this highly anticipated series that takes place in the Alien universe three decades before the events of Ridley Scott’s 1979 movie Alien.
Alien: Earth premieres August 12 on Hulu.
“When the mysterious deep space research vessel USCSS Maginot crash-lands on Earth, ‘Wendy’ (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat.”
FX’s Alien: Earth is created for television and executive produced by Noah Hawley. It stars Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, and Essie Davis.
“Alien takes place before Ripley,” said FX producer John Landgraf. “It’s the first story, that takes place on Earth. It takes place on our planet, near the end of this century we’re currently in -70-odd years from now.”
