This year is a HUGE one for both Rob Zombie and fans of his work. His latest album, The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser, was released last month, and his Halloween horror film 31 is headed to theaters on September 16. But before the new film comes out, a retrospective collection will pay tribute to the band that made Zombie a household name.
Set for release on June 3, White Zombie: It Came from N.Y.C. is the ultimate collection for fans of the band, collecting together 39 early tracks, each one of them remastered by guitarist J. Yuenger. The collection, spread across either three CDs or five LPs (your choice) will also include a 108-page hardcover book that cover’s the bands early days in NYC and rise to super-stardom.
Coolest of all? It’ll feature songs previously unheard by you, me, or anyone else.
The fine folks over at Speakeasy have just provided an exclusive first-listen of the unreleased track “Scarecrow #2,” which as the title suggests, was a modified version of a previously recorded song from ’85 that was simply titled “Scarecrow.” If you want to listen to the track, we encourage you to click that link and head over to Speakeasy, where you can enjoy it in its 5+ minute entirety.
Oh and be sure to pre-order White Zombie: It Came from N.Y.C. today!
