Killer clowns in horror movies. Scary. Killer clowns in real life. ABSOLUTELY GODDAMN TERRIFYING.

As reported by NY Daily News, residents of an apartment complex in Greenville, South Carolina are being advised to keep a close eye on their children, as a mysterious man dressed as a clown has apparently been spotted in the woods that line the property. According to at least 30 children who live in the complex, the clown made an attempt to lure them into the woods, and they heard him “whispering and making strange noises” off in the distance.

I thought my child was seeing things,” said one mother, whose son claimed to have seen the clown while playing basketball with his friends. “And then the next day I had about 30 kids come up to me and say, ‘Did you see the clown in the woods?‘”

One resident described the menace as a “large-figured clown with a blinking nose,” and another reported SEVERAL clowns flashing green laser lights in the woods. Officers, during their investigation of the wooded area, found no evidence of any suspicious goings-on, but the manager of the apartment complex isn’t taking any chances.

First and foremost at Fleetwood Manor Apartments childrens safety is a top priority,” he wrote in a letter that was sent out to all the residents. “At no time should a child be alone at night, or walking in the roads or wooded areas at night.”

Our advice? Stay the hell away from South Carolina.
