Popular streaming service Netflix is continuing their work on original programming, this time taking a popular horror/fantasy video game called “The Witcher” and making it into a series.
Andrzej Sapkowski’s series of novels-turned-video games will be produced by the company and Sapkowski has been asked to come on as creative consultant.
He is very excited to be a part of the development team.
“I’m thrilled that Netflix will be doing an adaptation of my stories, staying true to the source material and the themes that I have spent over thirty years writing,” he said in a press release.
He adds: “I’m excited about our efforts together, as well as the team assembled to shepherd these characters to life.”
Sean Daniel of The Mummy franchise and and Jason Brown are reportedly going to produce the series.
Those are all the details we have so far. There is no word yet on when the series will debut.
The latest Witcher game called “Wild Hunt” won many awards in 2015 including game of the year by some gaming portals.
