Writers Scott Beck and Bryan Woods’ supernatural screenplay “a Quiet Place” got a greenlight from Paramount Pictures and Michael Bay.
You may remember the writers for their movie “Nightlight” which premiered two years ago.
The new horror film will star real-life Tinseltown couple Emily Blunt and John Krasinski.
Krasinski will also direct.
Paramount has also signed Woods and Beck to write a future project, and the team is developing yet another film and a television pilot which they hope to announce soon.
This will be the third film for director Krasinski. He previously directed “The Hollars” and “Brief Interviews with Hideous Men” in 2009.
This will also be the first time he has acted with his wife Emily Blunt.
Platnumn Dunes Michael Bay will produce the supernatural thriller with Andrew Form and Brad Fuller.
Krasinski and Platnum Dunes are working together for the upcoming Amazon series “Jack Ryan,” based on “” novels, and is scheduled to debut on the streaming service in 2018.
During production meetings for “Jack Ryan,” Krasinski discussed his interest in doing a horror movie in the vain of “The Purge” and “Ouija.”
They looked at “A Quite Place,” which Dunes had previously acquired.
Although the details of the script are being kept under wraps, Blunt and Krasinski fell in love with the story after reading Beck and Woods’ script.
The team also has a movie in pre-production called “Haunt,” another supernatural thriller set inside an immersive haunted house experience, in which the prop monsters turn out to be real.
